I don't live in Charleston. The last time we visited my husband and I devoured the braided ravioli; it was absolutely delicious. Upon our return to Charleston I made a special effort to get a reservation at Church & Union to experience this entree again. I cannot begin to describe my dismay and disappointment when we were told that they had only prepared about a third of the normal raviolis and had promptly sold out. The server also seemed to make light of the fact that this item was sold out and did not alert us to absence of this menu staple when we sat down. It would have been nice to know this when we sat down so I could have selected an alternative versus ordering the item and being told it is not available.

Overall, this was a great experience. The calamari and fried chicken were outstanding, but two of our dinner companions ordered the short ribs which were terrible. The ribs were very overdone, dry, and hard as a rock. The restaurant manager was great and offered really nice service recovery. The cocktails were fantastic - and the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Over crowded. They try to cram too many people in the space. Someone walked by and brushed us while we ate about every three seconds on a Monday night. Can’t imagine what a weekend night would be like. We had salmon and it was bland and wasn’t worth the price. ($100). We ate something else after left. Won’t go back. Server was great!
