   We were very excited to try Cielo, having selected it from several options in Atascadero on our return home from San Jose. We wanted a nice meal to break up the drive. The service was great and the overall ambience is good. I started with a glass of Prosecco, and it was a generous pour. When ordering, we were surprised that when we asked about any vegetable sides that could be ordered, that our only option were the salads. The food ranged from marginal to good. Here’s the run-down: Carpaccio - COULD have been great, but drizzling Dijon mustard and horseradish sauces all over it, ruins the flavor of the beef and parm. The arugula was perfectly dressed. Overall - Very disappointing. Patate Salad - the best thing we had. The salad portion was perfectly dressed, the potato cake was very flavorful. Osso Bucco - the shank was well flavored, but oddly tough, even while falling off the bone. (Didn’t think that was possible…). The polenta accompaniment was one of the best we’ve ever had. Bucatini Carbonara and Prawns - sadly the biggest disappointment of all. I LOVE carbonara, but I’ve never had one with a sauce THIS runny. The pasta selection was too thick, so presented this side of under done. Finally, the prawns were an odd edition, given that they didn’t add texture or flavor to the meal. Perhaps grilling them would have been better? All in all - we REALLY wanted to live this place, that has great, attentive service staff, but unfortunate choices in food execution.

   Granted it was a Monday night, so not as busy as other times, so it was quiet, which we enjoyed. Loved the large round table for our group of 6. Food was delicious from start to finish and service was excellent.

   Delicious and atmosphere was nice for family and if you’re on a date. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing.

   The bolognese sauce for my pasta seemed watered down. It should be a rich meaty sauce. Every bit should contain some meat product. Was it ok? Sure. There was lots of tomato pieces present, which is indicative of another type of sauce. Burrrata dish was nice along with carpaccio. Wine was reasonably priced. Service was pleasant.

   The traditional spaghetti and meatballs was excellent and the butternut squash tortellini was delicious. Our server was a very pleasant young lady. Glad we chose Cielo for our Valentine's Day dinner.

   Great food, service and ambiance. We appreciated that every member of staff that passed our table checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Unexpected and exceptional experience!

   Excellent pizza and appetizer of mussels and clams. Service was excellent as was ambience. Will be back.

    Loved the meal. See private note. Unfortunately the construction out front makes it hard to park and get inside, especially when it is raining and cold. Not Cielo's fault of course. It would be nice if there was an entry from the back parking lot so folks didn't have to walk around in the bad weather....of course, only a Californian would say this....but it was cold.
