Clark’s Montecito is a stylish all-day restaurant celebrating coastal American classics spanning from New England to California. In addition to its flagship menu of oysters and raw bar, a signature burger, daily catch specials, lobster rolls, chowder and refreshing crudo, this California location features seasonal bounty from the Pacific Ocean. The wine list highlights California classics alongside French whites and reds primarily from Burgundy and the Loire. Clark’s signature martinis and cocktails are always available. A collaboration between Lambert McGuire Design and Santa Barbara-based architect Jeff Shelton, the space offers a seamless indoor-outdoor dining experience that marries Clark’s classic coastal design features with the more whimsical ceramic tile traditions of Portugal and Mexico and a Mediterranean-inspired design that pays homage to its coastal setting and historic Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.

    Service was poor - very slow and unattentive. The food was mediocre at best. All three fish entrees were overcooked, the crispy marbled potatoes were soggy, and the salad dressing lacked flavor. The restaurant was also very loud, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. Perhaps it was due to one very inebriated gentleman at the oyster bar, but nevertheless. Unfortunate as the menu is very good and the location and decor are great.

    It has a great vibe and feeling. The food is so good. Oysters amazing. Crudo and clam chowder and linguine with clams all amazing.

    Our waiter was patient and understanding, however most of the food we ordered had to be sent back. The restaurant kindly sent a slice of Key lime pie to make amends. It was not an enjoyable meal overall. Friends have expressed that they have not enjoyed the food experience at Clark’s. Everyone wants this restaurant to succeeded in Montecito so we’ll try again.

    I really enjoyed this restaurant. We sat outside under the ceiling heaters on a slightly chilly night and were quite comfortable. They had several options for fresh shucked oysters and we especially liked the ones from WA state. The wedge salad and linguine with clams were delicious.

    We had dinner very early so it was not crowded. We had space and it wasn’t too loud. The service was great, the food was excellent. We tried many different dishes, the crispy halibut was amazing. The crab Louie was refreshing. Yes it’s iceberg lettuce but it’s crisp and delicious.

    We were celebrating two birthdays and an anniversary. Clark 's staff had the table outside with a lovely sign acknowledging the celebrations and greeted us by extending their congratulations! The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was lovely!

    1 of 2 main courses (“fresh” rockfish) was inedible and it took close to 20 minutes to replace with clam chowder — never did get the bread requested. The prices were on the high side and mores so because of the ppor quality and abismal service.

    The restaurant is very noisy. Tables right next to each other, so no privacy at all, especially since you have to yell to hear anything. I requested booth, which is better, three weeks ahead of time. I did not get one. Seated at a two top so close to the other tables on each side, we may as well been sitting with them.

    Three of us ladies had our first meal at clarks oyster bar on coast Village Road. One of us had an omelette, the cheapest thing on the menu at $10. It was sort of dry and had no flavor. Another person had the oysters Rockefeller. Four medium small oysters stuffed with a pallid white sauce and spinach for  $25, which includes the six dollar discount they gave for not getting the Uni that comes with this plate. The other person had a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich which had a generous amount of bacon. The best thing was the sourdough bread: a nice tough chewy crust and big holes in the doughy interior. The young staff was friendly and attentive. These three choices were unusual, so we’ll go back and hope for better luck ordering more of their specialties.
