   My wife and I dined at this restaurant in 2016. The food was really very good, service great and the ambience close to perfect so we had no hesitation in booking for a special night. Unfortunately we would be disappointed. The food and service was very much as we had expected, very good, however, the ambience was not so good, mainly due to the two children aged around 7-8 challenging for the noise award with their parents who would throw in a token "ssh" when it suited. I'm not anti children, I have one and I know what a challenge it can be to keep the little darlings amused, hence why I would not take them to a venue which I knew would irritate other diners trying to have a romantic dinner. I think the management should review their dining policy if they want to encourage repeat business. I'm afraid I would not take a chance visiting again unless I knew it would be ADULT FRIENDLY.

   This restaurant had been recommended by friends and we were pleased to have taken the plunge. From the first introduction to the menu the choice was difficult as so much sounded appetising. We tried the pigeon and lamb main courses and the quality of the cooking was first rate and none of the dishes disappointing. This is not a place for fast food or a quick bite but rather somewhere for a peaceful evening enjoying a splendid meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Wine list was fairly extensive and not over-priced but although a little disappointed with the Malbec this was by the choice. Highly recommended.

   Excellent evening. The service was welcoming and very efficient. Great choice on the menu. The food was a good standard of French fare. The double baked soufflé being a big hit.

   We've dined at Clos du Marquis many times over the years and have not yet had a dud meal. Always good quality. Unpretentious. Just genuinely a cut above the average.

   Excellent place to have lunch. Superb food, elegant surroundings and unobtrusive but friendly and helpful staff.

   This place was amazing! Great food, impeccable service, value for money and just all round great place to eat. I will definitely be returning!

   A recommended place to eat. It was a special celebration for me and I fancied a real treat. Liked the idea of French style quisine and we weren't let down. It started with some lovely canapés and each course was delightful. The wine (Both red and white) were also good and well priced, as was the total bill. A very old building and some of the decor was a bit dated.

    Had an excellent meal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Made to feel relaxed and welcome. Real homely feeling in the restraunt. Enjoyed it very much.
