Commoner used to be a favorite. The best part of Commoner now is their cocktails. I am so disappointed in their new menu. This is the second time I've tried it and I can't even believe it. They changed their meatloaf recipe. why? There must be someone new back there. I ordered a burger and iI think they must have thought I ordered a slider because the patty was about 1/2 the size it should be. Overall, the appetizers are lackluster, best app was the bread. (that's saying something). I no longer trust the entrees to be delicious like it used to be. We've had so many birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations at commoner and it was so reliable and good. I think the restaurant knows - looking around on a friday/saturday night it was not crowded at all. I feel bad for the owners. I will not be going back for awhile until I hear from people that they've gone back to the previous menu or have changed something. It's sad to experience the decline of something that was so good...

We have been going to Commoner for years and loved it. We have favorite servers ( David and Alex). We have noticed small changes recently and have not particularly liked them. Drinks are smaller but same price. Quality of buns on sandwiches has gone down. And the chicken sandwich has changed a lot, and not in a good way. The mussels are now accompanied with somewhat stale tasting pieces of bread rather than the fries that were always included. I know things change with time and new people, but hopefully for the better….

We had looked carefully for a restaurant that could accommodate one mobility impaired person and one with food allergies. The menu listed made to order steak, pasta, and other items that looked like they could work. I don't know if our waiter was incompetent or just indifferent but he initially balked at asking the chef for a recommendation and then told us the only thing he could offer was a salad with no dressing. Ultimately my kid asked for buttered pasta which he grudgingly said she could have. She was served plain pasta. The rest of the food was adequate with overly garlicky risotto and barely seasoned everything else. Drinks weren't served until we asked a second server for them. Actually, all of the staff other than our server seemed responsive and helpful but our server barely showed up and seemed more interested in telling the host how to do her job than in doing his at all. Needless to say, we were disappointed. We think with a different server we would have had a better experience. Or maybe he just needs some training in customer care.

Enjoyed our patio dining with our pup. Service was friendly, knew the menu well, and made suggestions, and the happy interactions with the team are reason enough to return. Our group had a variety of cocktails, wine, apps and entrees and there was a lot of “try this” around the table. Great vibe. The restaurant is bright, has an uplifting energy and the room is obviously enjoying themselves and the food. Every spot at the bar was taken and quickly refilled - sign of a fun bartender taking good care of single diners. We will be back!

Not good meals. Risotto was dry and clearly prepared well beforehand. Salmon was cooked poorly. Tres leches panacotta was awful gummy and tasteless. Pulled roght out of fridge, likely at least one day old, if not more. Yuck.

A very nice upscale local eatery. Highly recommend. Homemade pasta was excellent and so was meatloaf. But the star of the meal was their dirty martini, which was made with pickle juice. Incredible. If you love dirty martinis, you have to try theirs. Can't wait to come here again the next time we are in town.
