Cork & Gabel, a restaurant fusion of Irish, Italian, and German cuisine, opened in 2018 in Detroit's Corktown district. We are known for our use of modern techniques on old school classics. European comfort food is a staple at Cork & Gabel. We pride ourselves on being a scratch kitchen, sourcing and using Michigan vendors including farmers and small business. Fresh is key when it comes to providing a great experience and we make everything we can fresh and in house.

From first arriving and being greeted to our fabulous waitress it set the right tone. Five ladies celebrating the holidays so they were patient with us. They brought out a couple cinnamon rolls, I can see why they are a fan favorite and we each ordered a drink, my classic Bloody Mary was perfect garnished with all the fixings. We each got something different and sampled and there was not a bad meal in the order. I had the chorizo ranchero bowl, biscuits and gravy, chicken wings, chicken and waffle, corned beef and hash, and the schnitzel open face, each item was excellent in its own right, and made to perfection. We all said we will be back as this place is a hidden gem!!

Phenomenal food and service. We were sitting in the glass room that had an overhead heater….we were definitely overheated! They were understanding and worked with us by turning in the overhead fans while keeping the rest of the room comfortable as well. By the way, the best German potato salad I have ever had!!

Went for brunch and had a great experience. Omelettes were on point and the drinks always amazing.

We enjoyed every single bite of our unique and creative food. Service was excellent. You can’t beat the historical building with a view of Michigan Central! It was a treat to be here. Speaking of treats, try the Irish Waffle Bomb for dessert.❤️

Good variety on the menu Prices reasonable and service was good. Too bad you forgot my Caesers salad

Brunch after walking over from Michigan Central was much enjoyable. The Ultimate Bloody Mary was very tasty and the sandwiches (Triple Decker Grilled Cheese) and Chorizo Ranchero Bowl were also given excellent reviews. Courtney, our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. Nicely decorated with a interesting front door. A great spot to go if you’re visiting the Michigan Central.

Nice to have different and creative choices on a menu. Not fancy and frilly, but tasty and reasonable. The Irish duo playing and singing was lots of fun, just a bit too loud....as seems to be the standard everywhere.
