On a mission to share the beauty of Mexican culture through food, Chef Johnny Curiel opens Cozobi Fonda Fina as an encore to his beloved LoHi restaurant, Alma Fonda Fina. Named after Cozobi, the Zapotec god of corn, Cozobi Fonda Fina is rooted in Mexico’s centuries-old corn nixtamalization traditions and wood-fire cooking techniques that define its rich food history.

We booked at the chef's table for a last-minute date night and had a great experience. The food was outstanding, as were the service and ambiance. Beyond the food, the interaction with the chefs elevated the experience. They shared anecdotes about the sourcing of ingredients and preparation techniques and even answered questions about the recipes. The energy of the kitchen was infectious, and the chefs clearly loved what they were doing. It showed in the food as everything was remarkable.

2nd time enjoying this fabulous restaurant! Such unique and delicious dishes and perfect for those who are GF as everything is GF! Love that the portions are for sharing meaning they are generous. Chad was our server and he is very attentive and knowledgeable so he can answer any question about the menus with descriptive detail. Such a great and tasty experience! Be sure to leave room for the Tres Leche dessert 😋

Excellent service, food, and environment. Especially loved the ‘Caesar’ Salad, the tuna tostada, and the spicey sweet potato.

Everything from the service, drinks, and food was amazing. We had a hard time deciding what to order as everything on the menu was attractive. I cant eat scallops, but my wife said the were amazing. The roasted sweet potatoes far exceeded my expectations, they were absolutely delicious. The Tres Leche cake was a unique twist on a classic, and was sublime. We will definitely be going back. It was my birthday and our server brought us a nice brut sparkling wine from Mexico, with our dessert.

Amazing experience all over! Coming from Guadalajara, Mexico, I miss eating good Mexican cuisine and this is definitely a place I will be coming to more regularly to remember the taste of home. I will even bring my Mexican family when they come to visit. The tortillas and salsas are home made and you can taste it. I highly recommend the sweet corn Margarita. It is a good as some of my favorite restaurants in Mexico City and Guadalajara.
