Credence is a South Texas, ranch-inspired upscale restaurant with a focus on live-fire cooking. Chef and two-time James Beard Award-nominated restaurateur Levi Goode's inaugural concept promises a culinary exploration of Texas through his unique perspectives on the region's food, people, culture, and the culmination of a lifetime of stories.

This was my first time at the restaurant. We were all impressed with the service, the food, the portions and ambiance. Credence would be a lovely place for a celebration, like a birthday. I know the staff would make it memorable. Can’t think of anything negative to comment other than the restaurant was a bit noisy. Still, tables are sufficiently far apart that we could enjoy a conversation without screaming. We texted the valet while still inside and our car was already outside waiting for us when we left. Everything was wonderful and I would highly recommend.

Our wait staff was EXCEPTIONAL! We ordered starters and our entrees based on their recommendations and we were not disappointed

Credence from Goode & Co. is another feather in the Houston dining scene's cap. It is, simply, an over the top dining experience. Highly trained, professional service staff is attentive without being intrusive. The mixologists are superb and the food is excellent. It is not inexpensive but well worth the splurge!

I am a super fan of the GoodCo brand so I was pretty surprised how underwhelmed and disappointed we were. The food in general didn’t seem to have much seasoning. Our $16 whipped mashed potatoes came out cold and had to ask if they could be warmed up. We waited close to 10 minutes and they never came out so we ended up having ask to have our steak warmed up as well. Sadly, the mashed potatoes came out the second time watery with a thin layer of melted butter on top. With so many other steak choices in Houston, sadly, I doubt we will be coming back.

Everything people say is true. Whatever you order will be good. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is exactly what it should be. The acoustics work and you don’t have to yell to be heard. Eat dessert. I don’t like coconut but my companion got a slice of coconut cream pie that was large enough it could have been shared by a few people. I now understand why people say not to miss it.

We joined at 1 PM. Our server seemed frazzled and overwhelmed. He was not very attentive. Parking is a nightmare. How can you build a new restaurant there with such terrible parking? I parked in Ciro’s parking lot. I didn’t know that was a no no. As soon as I got out of my car, I was approached by security and was told I needed to move my car. Valet has now completely blocked what had for a very long time been a passageway. No one wants to park in a parking garage to go to a restaurant.

So many times we have gone to a new restaurant with lots of hype and left feeling not so impressed. That was not the case last night. Credence was a great experience! The staff was engaging and always on task. The food was delicious! All four of us in attendance last night look forward to returning again soon.
