Credence is a South Texas, ranch-inspired upscale restaurant with a focus on live-fire cooking. Chef and two-time James Beard Award-nominated restaurateur Levi Goode's inaugural concept promises a culinary exploration of Texas through his unique perspectives on the region's food, people, culture, and the culmination of a lifetime of stories.

Overall I was not impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered a $73 ribeye with chimichurri sauce medium rare. The chimichurri sauce never came The steak was just medium well on the outside and medium on the inside and tasted awful. Like they dropped it into the coals and took it out again. The rest of the food that we ordered was not bad but not outstanding. You can do much better at this price level at quite a few places in Houston.

Food was excellent as was wait staff. Noise level a little high, but still manageable. Will recommend and will definitely be going back!!!

Our experience at Credence was overall positive, thanks to the excellent service. The waitstaff was attentive, ensuring we were well taken care of throughout our meal. The ambience was nice, though not particularly cozy—more of a refined setting. The food was good but didn’t quite justify the price. The Cowboy Cut Ribeye (RC Ranch Texas Wagyu) tasted no different from a standard USDA Prime ribeye, which was a bit disappointing. The Pan de Campo was delicious, but the portion was too small for a table of four. Our interaction with the sommelier could have been better. We had a question about whether a particular red wine had hints of strawberry, as we were concerned about a food allergy. Instead of directly addressing our concern, the response focused on explaining that wine is made from grapes—something we already understood. While there may have been some miscommunication, we felt the interaction could have been more helpful and a bit friendlier. That said, the outstanding service from the waitstaff made the experience enjoyable, and we’d consider returning for that alone. However, the food and wine service didn’t leave a strong enough impression to make it a must-visit for us.

Beautiful space. Food was good- nothing spectacular. Service was poor. Bartender had to ask 3 times what our order was- and still got it wrong. Server was so intoxicated he was asked to go home after re-confirming our order twice and still getting first course wrong. The other staff stepped in to make it better and were very accommodating. My insight says things are headed downhill.

Excellent all-around. Beautifully designed with big open kitchen and great buzz from all the staff in a very high ratio to customers. Waylon was great and helped us pick an appetizer, main and dessert that were all delicious as was all the food and cocktails; Manhattan, Negroni with Sherry twist, raw oysters, deviled crab on shell, shrimp in bbq sauce & grits in pasta, tenderest beef short rib ever (special) topped off with a perfect massive slice of coconut cream pie. Highly recommend.

Wanted to try this restaurant so we went on Saturday afternoon. As noted with the “stars” my overall experience was very good but didn’t find the food anything special. It was good but I wouldn’t order the same things again. It was a a brunch menu which is not my favorite. That’s a personal opinion. They did accommodate me and did give me a fried fish sandwich which was okay. We plan to return next week for dinner with friends. Dinner menu looks great.

The tables were a bit too close to each other for our liking. It felt that we were not a couple enjoying dinner together, but were in the middle of a long common table. However the food is absolutely amazing. Devil carbs are to die for, and one will wake up in the middle of the night for snapper with caviar and the aged rib-eye.
