Chef Hakan is a second-generation baker who learned his craft in his uncle's bakery in Istanbul. His love for baking started out with making pastries and sourdough bread at first.

Hit by a pizza obsession later on, similar to Anatolian flatbread, Chef Hakan studied, experimented, and observed various pizza-making methods. He participated in pizza expos, visited pizza restaurants, and tasted different styles of pizza around the world until buying a nice wood-fired pizza oven and creating his own recipe.

Then time came for Hakan to open up his restaurant. Previously known as Napa Baking Company is now serving in Napa as Croccante. Chef Hakan offers long-fermented Pan-style Detroit and Chicago thin tavern style pizza.

Croccante currently holds an award from 50 top pizza, as one of the 50 top pizzerias in USA in the "excellent" category as well as a nomination by SF Chronicle as One of the Top Pizzerias in the Bay Area.

We enjoy going here with our young grand daughter. It’s family friendly. The pizza is great. I would encourage to order both the Detroit crust and the thin crust. Some Za, salad, and a bottle of Hall’s Red Blend. Done !

Food was good but hostess was rude. Said they couldnt accommodate our large party which we understood so we asked if we could just have seperate tables they said no they didn't have the room, there were only 5 people sitting inside. We literally went outside and each made reservations within the next 5 minutes and we walked inside and they seated us. Once we were done with our food one of our parties was told it was time to go.

The deep dish pizza was to die for. Perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Will definitely be back!

Garlic knots were ok-marinara sauce was tasty but the knots were barely warm. Pizza was amazing and salad was fresh and delicious. Service was a little sketchy compared to our last visit. We sat without water twice,had to ask for ranch twice and my credit card got lost in the mix somehow.The restaurant was quite busy so we will give a little slack. We would still come back because the food is delicious!

The food and service is excellent. Everything we have eaten here has been amazing! The garlic knots are incredible! Can’t wait to go back!

I love this place! Best place to get a Detroit style pizza and the prices are reasonable for the Napa Valley area.

We are regular customers and find the food and service to be consistently excellent. Salads are always fresh and appealing. The Detroit style pizza is always delicious. Our favorite is the burrata, balsamic and arugula with an Italian sausage add on. Last night we brought friends, their first visit to Croccante's, and they were equally impressed.
