When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

                                  We went on a busy Saturday night. We had a 8:15 pm reservation. Our wait was 45 minutes before sitting and that was a problem! I don't wait for a meal that long with a reservation. I believe the sitting host was manipulating the list. After I brought this to the attention of the manager , we were seated. The Resturant manager went beyond and really made up for the initial bad experience. The food, waiter service, and wine expert was truly a great experience. The restaurant is truly worth going for a visit but be aware of the wait, keep track of your place in line and the expected time to be seated. Don't be afraid to check on your place in line with the seating host.

                                  The steaks were cooked perfectly. The side dishes were delicious. Our server Julio was awesome! The restaurant was crowded for a Saturday night and it was very noisy. We asked for a booth which was great because it was quiet and we could hear people talking at the table. Overall an amazing experience! We plan on going back to sit on the patio and experience the waterfall atmosphere.
