When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

Anna was amazing! She knows her stuff and the staff was really fantastic at making you feel valued. The food selection is one of the best at an upscale restaurant. The have everything from seafood to beef Wellington and lamb. The tater tot app is very good and worth the value. Best Beef Wellington I’ve had to date as well! We will be back!

This place is absolutely incredible. From the food, to the ambiance, the setting, everything was amazing. KAYLA, our server was the best! She gave great recommendations which I really appreciated, she was informative and helpful, she deserves a raise! 10/10 will be back here. Don’t forget to go see the waterfall. The food omg. We had the tater tot, diver scallops, bouillabaisse, and the ribeye. Every bite of food was delicious. This place has it figured out.

Being a service worker myself, I was blown away by Steve’s knowledge and presence at not only my table but others as well. Being nosy and trying to compare to my own job(Meehans chophouse) I tried to find anything I could nitpick but there was no opportunity sadly. The food was spectacular my partners salmon blew her expectations and my New York strip was so good I forgot I had au poivre. The sides were excellent especially the lobster mac and cheese. Every bite was as if I it’s been marinating with buttery lobster for days. Can’t wait for my next meal here!

I chose Dakota’s for my wife’s birthday celebration for its unique way to enter the restaurant. It is a single elevator in the middle of downtown leading to an incognito underground restaurant. This alone gave very speakeasy and clandestine vibes. The hostess was very pleasant and the flourish sounds from the live piano music made for a very tranquil environment. We were sat in a corner and noticed rose petals on the table as well as a birthday card from the restaurant. (I had mentioned it was for a birthday celebration at reservation time). Our server, named Abby, was very friendly and her recommendations for dinner choices were exactly what we were looking for. My wife ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the Wellington. Both choices were cooked to perfection. My wife loves wedge salads and the avocado drizzle made a very much improvement to the way it’s normally made. Abby was also very thorough in her service and made us feel very welcomed as it was our first time dining there. The end of the meal was made more special with a slice of birthday cake and a lit candle. I highly recommend this restaurant and Abby.

This was our first visit and it couldn’t have been better! We were celebrating my birthday and I felt so special. The service from Nick was fantastic and the staff was so friendly. The food was fantastic and we will definitely be back!
