When visiting the restaurant, patrons descend 18 feet underground in a canopied glass elevator, accessed from street level, for a culinary experience unlike any other. The American Steakhouse offers an expansive 1,800 square foot subterranean courtyard allowing patrons to dine al fresco and enjoy a New Orleans-inspired exterior space. This cool oasis is complete with a 20 foot, 5-tiered granite water wall, multi-tiered landscaping, lava rock fire pit, and black granite bar. Dakota's below-ground patio has long been considered one of the city's most romantic dining spots.

We believe the best steaks come from the best cut and quality. That’s why we get all of our beef fresh from renowned beef purveyors, Allen Brothers. Each cut is corn and grain fed USDA Prime steak that our chef handpicks. Each steak is aged for a minimum of 28 days for a perfectly tender, juicy bite every time.

It is our goal to give you a great meal every time you join us for lunch or dinner.

They made it a really special experience, had roses on the table and even brought us out some dessert.

Celebrating our anniversary, and this definitely lived up to our expectations. We were greeted properly, the ambience was amazing, and the service was top-notch. Our server Chrissie, was great. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, allergy restrictions, and more. She was working multiple tables and was very much attentive to each and every table. Overall, it was a great experience and a perfect way to celebrate our anniversary

We absolutely loved our first visit to Dakota’s! The food was impeccable and so were the cocktails. Brian was our server and was great! We had a wonderful time and we can’t wait to return soon!

The food was amazing and Kayla was even better! She told us the full story of the restaurant’s location and had the best recommendations for food! She was attentive and gave us the best experience. Drinks were amazing as was the food. Steak was cooked perfectly and the scallop appetizer is to die for. Highly recommend the restaurant and recommend Kayla even more!

The hottest was not friendly or welcoming at all. Except for the lady that walked us over to the table. The lady that checked us in was super dry and not very helpful at all 0/10 to that lady and 10/10 to the lady that walked us to our table. Our server was very nice and super attentive and friendly. The food was amazing as always. The Valet was not very accommodating, did not provide me with a ticket to retrieve my car and made it seem as if I dropped my ticket when it was not the case. For such a prestigious restaurant and I frequently visit with friends and family to have a host like that it’s very disappointing. Overall 8/10

1st time for our annual family dinner. From the time we came in to the time we left, service was excellent. The food was amazing. We loved the atmosphere, definitely upscale!

We enjoyed the food and our waiter was excellent. I felt like the host was a little rude to me and my family. I booked a reservation for 4 on Christmas Eve and with all the madness of the holidays I thought I booked for 5pm. As my family and I were on our way to the restaurant we got a call around 4:20 asking if we were still coming and I said yes we should arrive before 5. The young lady on the phone informed me that the reservation was at 4 but she spoke to the manager and the manager said that we could still come in as long as we got there by 5. When we walked in the male hosts was rude to me and my family and said “you guys are an hour late, and I need the table back by 6:30.” What kind of host says something like that to a customer. We made a mistake on the time and I take responsibility but I would have rather them tell me not to come in at all instead of having the host treat us so rudely. The entire time we were eating all I could think about was beating the 6:30 deadline so I did not enjoy the experience as much as I thought I would.

Looking from the outside you wouldn’t even know it was a restaurant until you get into the elevator very unique walked into a very upscale movie like restaurant, we were impressed. We ordered the calamari and shrimp, halibut catch of the day and short rib, the food was excellent, our server Julio was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Thank you for your hospitality and helping us celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary . I recommend this place the service is outstanding. Love it!
