I got the spicy chicken sandwich and it had the best flavor. It was just the right amount of spice and the flavor was just amazing. The French fries could have been more crispy, but I also like a really crispy fry. My husband got the short rib and he enjoyed his meal as well. We will be back!

Overall food was a bit bland. Pork chop didn’t appear to be completely cooked. Salted caramel cheesecake was amazing. Male supervisor was extremely nice. All other staff we encountered were nice as well! Wait time for food was a bit lengthy. Friends loved their berry locomotives. Loved the ambience of outdoor/indoor dining!

Endia, Thank you for your recent visit to Derailed at Hotel Nickel Plate, as well as for taking the time to provide some feedback. The pork chop used from Fischer Farms has been smoked, which results in a slightly pinkish hue internally. This could give the impression that it is undercooked; however, I want to reassure you that this entree is completely safe to consume. Being a Saturday evening, there could have been some heavier volume in the kitchen, resulting in longer wait times. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your party. My husband and I tried Derailed for the first time. We made a reservation, but there was only one other table of diners, so it wasn't needed. The location is nice, and there's a large outside dining area. We sat at a high-top table in the bar. Our server was friendly and approached us right away. We had fried ravioli as an appetizer, and it was really good. It was served hot and crispy. I had a spicy chicken sandwich, and my husband had a tenderloin. The menu stated that sandwiches are served with either chips or fries, but when I asked for chips, the server stated they didn't have any. My husband's sandwich was supposed to have lettuce only, but it was served with other toppings. They could be easily removed, so it wasn't a big deal. When we were done eating, our server brought the check. It was correct, and my husband gave her his credit card. She dropped off his card and the receipt for him to sign, but she had charged us for the other table's food...not the tab she originally gave us. We could not locate her to fix the mistake, so I told the bartender. He sent over a manager who canceled the incorrect charge. She then gave us a discount on our actual tab. It took maybe an extra ten minutes to straighten out the situation. Overall, the food was fine. The service was good except for the incorrect charge. The decor and location are nice.

Amy, We greatly appreciate your recent patronage of Derailed at Hotel Nickel Plate. We only recently put our establishment on the Open Table platform, finding there were periods that we needed to control the flow of a given meal period, allowing for better service. I am sorry about the issue with sides served with some of our items. We similarly went through a recent menu modification, whereas some team members were getting accustomed to the sides being offered from the previous menu. It appears that the biggest inconvenience though was in regard to billing. You have my sincerest apologies for this. I am pleased to hear the manager was able to correct for you. I hope that despite these inconveniences, you will give us another opportunity to serve you again.

French Onion soup was excellent! Food came out at the same time after asking that the soup come out first and then the entrees. Tenderloin was overcooked. If I went back probably for lunch rather than dinner. Server was good and apologetic after expediter brought food out at the same time.
