Prior to my fiancée and I’s Valentines Day reservations on Saturday, I read a couple Google reviews rating Divan poorly due to their lack of service. Our dinner reservations were at 8:45pm, our waiter didn’t greet us for twenty minutes and when he did - he didn’t apologize for the delay in service or wait. After he took our order for drinks, appetizers and main course it took an hour to receive our appetizers. Despite it being Valentine’s Day weekend, the restaurant wasn’t busy. However, the live music was beautiful and the food was pretty good! I’m 100% positive I won’t be dinning here again because of the long wait time and 20% service charge for mundane and nonchalant service.

My boyfriend and I came here from Nebraska to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Safe to say I was beyond disappointed with the service and the food for the price. We expected chicago food/service to be up to par if not better than Omaha. Safe to say the food was not good and our meal was 500$. I will not be coming back here EVER. Our Valentine’s Day was ruined because we came here. I am beyond irritated, I have a lot of patience since I work in the restaurant industry but we had to ask multiple times for different things just to not get it at all. We waited an hour and a half in between appetizers to order the entree. The steak was disgusting and it was supposed to be Waygu grade. A waste of money and time. Wow.

Nothing on the night of reservations indicated a Valentines Day set menu so we didn’t get much if a choice.

The restaurant was beautiful however the food was not so good. We went for my daughters birthday which was the Valentine weekend. I didn't know that the restaurant was only offering a pre-fixed menu with limited entrees for $109 per person, which included three courses. I got the Caesar salad $20, pasta entee $29.99 and the last course was dessert which was the chocolate cake $16. This didnt add up to $109. We decided to enjoy the experience. My first course came out and the salad tasted lfishy. I did not send it back, I just didn't eat it. The waitress asked me was there a problem with it and I explained that I wasn't a fan of it. My husband didn't eat his either. My second course came out which I had the pasta. The pasta was undercooked and the sauce was on the cool side. My two daughters had the same thing and said well Mom We have to eat it because the next course is just cake. The last course was dessert which we all ordered the chocolate cake. We ask for the cake as a carry-out. Fyi, We did order some 2 sides of oyster Rockefeller ($54 total)to offset the food that we didn't care for. My husband had two drinks ($36 total) and the kids had sprits ( $8 total) . The bill came to $727 which included taxes and gratuity. The experience for the limited pre-fixed menu didn't add up to $109 per person however The oyster rockefellas and the drinks were good.

There was a bit of miscommunication. The restaurant MADE all patrons order from a valentines menu. There were some ala carte options, however the happy hour menu was not offered. This is the reason my friends and I went to restaurant. The black restaurant week special was also not honored. Overall it was an ok experience but there was quite a few questionable instances. I would give them another try. If the happy hour menu isn’t available, I won’t be back.

After driving for 2hrs through the snow storm. No waters or drinks were offer. My wife and I were immediately checked in and greeted by the hostess which was great however after that, we sat unattended at our table for over 30min. No waters or drinks were offer. I asked a random waiter to take our order. Other people were serviced after we arrived. Being newlyweds we were excited to spend our Valentines Day together. Very disappointed. The singer was honestly the best part of our night.

The ambience was very nice; I loved the exposed brick and loft-like feel. The lighting was perfect for Valentine’s Day and the woman who performed was great! However, these were the only highlights, apart from the complimentary cocktail we were served upon being seated. The service was fine, not as attentive as I had expected. We were seated at a wobbly table that I asked to be addressed and it never was. The wait time between the first and second course was quite long, 30+ minutes. I frequent Chicago area steakhouses and this was by far the least favorable experience. The steak was covered in sauce, not advertised on the menu. For $109 per person, I expected a suitable side dish. The potato puree served with our steaks was lacking in portion size. The any Strip steak was lacking in flavor. The dessert, in which we tried 2/3 options (lemon tart and Prosecco float), were mediocre at best, especially the lemon tart. Our bill was over $350. I struggle to find the value in what we ordered. I would not recommend this establishment for anything beyond cocktails.

Poor service, after dinner we asked for the food to be boxed so we can take it home.. and they threw out our food. Definitely not worth going to when half your food that you spent money on gets thrown away.. best to finish all the food otherwise they might throw it away

Our reservation was at 8:45. We didn’t get seated until 9:45. We constantly had to go up to the hostess to ask when our table will be ready… she never came up to us. Our food was cold. Drinks were over priced. We specifically said that it was our friends birthday. And every other table who had a birthday had the sparkler experience…. We are the only table that did not. The ambience was great, the music was great but I really don’t think me or my friends will be back. We did not need to pay $700 for cold food and overpriced drinks. Since we waited so long for our table to be ready we should’ve been offered complementary drinks. It was ridiculous. Waiting in an hour for your table to be ready is absolutely insane.
