   We’ve been to Driftwood before. We love the food and love the place, so we decided to bring friends. It was Saturday night. They were breaking in a new waiter and he seemed overwhelmed. It took us 45 minutes to get a drink (maybe even a little bit longer), but once that was handled the rest of the evening flowed much better. We ordered the sweet & sour cauliflower. which was delicious as always, and oysters as starters. For dinner, I had the roasted veggie mole. It was good, but had maybe a bit too much going on with sauces, flavors… my brother ate the smoked pork chop, which if you love “smoked” foods this is a winner every time. My husband and sis-n-law had burgers. My hubby had truffle fries with his - they were delish! Perfectly crisp, non-oily and just enough truffle to taste and smell the flavor without overwhelming. My sis asked for steamed broccoli, which for some reason was a tough one. We asked the waiter. He said he’d check. Nothing. We asked the manager. He’d check it out, too.Nope. Finally, as she finished her last bite of burger, a hostess came over with a little plate that did indeed contain a small, steamed “steak” of broccoli. “Is this for you,” she asked. “It was on the bar.” Better late then never! All said and done, they gave us the drinks on the house, which was not our intention but was a very nice thing to do (and smart business, too) The food was good -and our waiter ultimately came through. Everyone gets an off day - and I think this might have been one of them. We’ll go back to Driftwood again. After all, the menu changes often and there’s a lot of good food to try.

   2nd time dinging guys this week. Different server and weekend maybe it was busier or hectic in the kitchen but the service was slower, we brought 3 kids with us so slow service this time was not the best experience. (Two days prior the service was fast), we could not wait to leave but had to wait for drinks, kids food, adult food, and dessert. Probably wont come again as a family. Kids loved the food (except for the ice cream), but we placed the kids food as soon as we got there but it took longer than expected. Wrong drink came out but that’s okay still tasty.

   Wow! Perfection! The whole experience had such a neat vibe from Our super hip and attentive waitress (pretty like Emma stone with cool pants) and the BEST recommendations on drinks and food. Every item was tasty (and I’m a picky eater). Every server (food and drinks being brought out) were proudly placed on our table like a work of art. The staff is talented and works as a team. No restaurant can compare or compete. My favorite was the French onion cheesy bread served with the steak and then the cauliflower. I was surprised, every table was filled and taken however there was never any wait for service, food and drinks came out so fast and so delicious. We would have came months ago but we didn’t have a baby sitter until last night. We never saw a kids menu until last night and so many families so we already booked our second reservation tomorrow night with the whole family. Thank you for creating such a fantastic dining experience, staff, food, and drinks! Wow!

   So glad this restaurant survived the pandemic. They’ve turned the “front yard” into a lovely patio with market lighting, umbrellas and a trellis wall to separate the space from Federal highway. Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The menu has a lot of variety, with a concentration on delicious seafood. I ordered shrimp and grits and my friend had octopus. We sat at the table for 2 1/2 hours enjoying the food and ambiance.
