Dutch Courage is a gin-centric cocktail bar located in the historic Baltimore neighborhood of Old Goucher. Whether you are looking for an adventuresome cocktail or need a cold beer, our staff has you covered. With 150 bottles of Gin, Genever, Old Tom and Barreled Gin, along with a full spirit selections, there is always something new to explore and help you discover your courage.
The Dutch Courage kitchen team lead by Chef Alec Jacobsen has a variety of food for you to enjoy while sipping beverages. From delightful boards of cheese, charcuterie and tinned seafood to small and large plates, the food at Dutch Courage is always a culinary adventure.

The current chef is killing it - there’s always been great individual dishes over DC’s tenure, but this is the first time I feel the overall food program is an equal draw to the already stellar bar. Cocktails on point as usual. Super busy on a Friday, so I appreciate that the wait is a bit longer instead of cutting corners. Also, great to see the co-owner Brendan, aka Admiral Courage, help out and run food. Sign of quality management.

Mostly but not exclusively gin-based cocktail bar and restaurant located in a row house. Cocktails and food was creative. Lots of options to choose from including cheese, meat and seafood boards, small and large plates, and dessert. Staff were friendly and service was excellent. A hidden gem in this part of town!

Our server Nick was really helpful, attentive and gave great recommendations for cocktails. Food was excellent, get “The Fields” for a good steak and potatoes.

DC never disappoints! I always have the best food and drink here but tonight was even better than the typical excellent experience I am accustomed to. Kudos to the Chef and the cocktail wizards. They made two drinks for us off the menu that are our favorites and they were perfect.

Dutch Courage is a new favorite. Three of us got a handful of dishes and shared them all. Drinks were terrific, inventive and beautiful to look at. The sea—nicely seasoned rock fish with fingerling tomatoes—was delicious, spiced just right. Crab dip, cheese, pickled items and dessert were great, too. One disappointment: we had made reservations weeks in advance to celebrate a special event. We were offered a low couch with a table for seating, but my husband’s injured back needed a regular chair. So we were seated out back. It was cold and raining…I’d like to say it was ok but it really wasn’t.

We enjoyed the laid back, friendly vibe. It was perfect for meeting friends for a drink & an app on a Friday evening. Our server was knowledgeable, patient & attentive. Will definitely return.
