   Eddie’s is my go to Place for a nice dinner. We arrived early for a 730 reservation and did not get seated until almost 8 o’clock. Our server was a bit quirky and constantly needed to be tracked down to do simple things like get another round of drinks or clear the plates which sat for probably 15 minutes on the table. What is typically a 2 to 2 1/2 hour experience at Eddie’s turned into 3 1/2 hours really for no reason. I will of course be back to Eddie’s but I hope that things will work out better next time.

   Went there for my birthday weekend, they had closed the one in Chicago so I was thrilled to find that they had re opened in OakBrook! The crab cakes are still the best I have had! The buttercake was still decadent and mouthwatering. The service was top notch! Jorge was our server and he was amazing! We were seated in a private room and given complimentary champagne for a toast, what can I say, everything was incredible! Thank you for making my birthday special.

   I have eaten at other Eddie V's and the food is consistently excellent. This new restaurant in the chain was no exception. The service was pretty good - not excellent and the runners coming from the kitchen and bar often looked confused as to where they should take the food or drink. The remodeled restaurant from the prior space for me was just okay. Very dark and glitzy -just not my style. We would definitely go back though. Get the poached sea bass and the crab fried rice and add the rice to the sea bass broth - yum! Excellent oysters and a good variety.
