                                First impression , it looked and seemed like they were understaffed. If this is the case, then take out orders should have been turned off to not impact the diners experience. 10mins and a wave down to place an order. The gentlemen who sat us seemed rushed and flustered. Feeling like they were over whelmed we placed our complete order: wine, appetizer, and entrees. We immediately received our wine and bread. Over the next 20 minutes, 3-4 take out orders went out the door and a table that was seated after us received their appetizer (same one we ordered). People completed their meals around us and tables sat dirty. Only when they needed a table did they clean it. After another 10 mins and zero communication from our server, hungry and disappointed, I left money for the wine and we left. This was not what we had anticipated as all the reviews talked up the great service.

                                Our experience at Ela Mesa was wonderful. What made it especially enjoyable besides the delicious and fresh food, was our interaction with Boris, our server. He was so friendly and attentive to us. His service was exceptional and made our experience so enjoyable. We will definitely be back.

                                Authentic Greek food. The fish is fresh and moist, cooked to perfection. Moussaka is absolutely divine. Saganaki is a special treat and even the sides of lemon potatoes and spinach and rice are excellent. Boris, our waiter, was attentive and actively working to make sure we had everything we needed. Took our friends along tonight and they really enjoyed the evening.

                                We love Ela Mesa. This visit they were busier as we try to go on the early side. The food is very good ! The Pita is excellent -- and we had the chicken Kebab, lamb chops and lamb shank. Everyone liked the main dishes. Owner was working hard with his staff. We will return. If this place was closer to us it would be packed every day. It is so much better than most other restaurants.

                                My wife and I had a fabulous dinner at Ela Mesa on March 12, 2025. She had the seafood special of the day—a Mediterranean fish similar to a flounder—and I had a halibut-based main course. Our delightful server, Boris, masterfully deboned my wife’s fish, and was very attentive to us the entire time. Our entrees were wonderfully seasoned, perfectly cooked —especially the very tender and flaky fish—and very hot, just out of the oven. The Greek combo appetizer, as well as the delectable baklava dessert—were fantastic bookends to our delicious entrees. Kudos to the entire team at Ela Mesa . . . it is one of our very favorite restaurants. Chris A. Potomac, MD
