At eléa, we only use the finest quality ingredients (Grade 1 Yellow Fin Tuna, Loche Duarte Scottish Salmon) to create traditional "True Greek" fare. Now Open, on the heels of the successful summer opening of Kyma Flatiron, sister restaurant eléa on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Dining at a restaurant is an experience with many components for me. First, there’s the decision to dine out rather than cook at home—a choice I don’t take lightly, as I consider myself a pretty good cook. Then comes selecting the right restaurant. Once I’ve made a reservation through OpenTable, I include special requests, such as seating preferences and hoping a favorite waiter will be working that night. I look forward to seeing if those details are acknowledged and fulfilled. From the moment I arrive, the experience begins: Am I greeted warmly by the receptionists, who seem genuinely happy to see me and eager to accommodate my requests? Is the maître d' cordial and welcoming? Is the waiter knowledgeable, personable, well-groomed, and engaging? A great waiter can make dining at their station a true pleasure, with a friendly demeanor and a smile that enhances the atmosphere. Then comes a key factor for me: pacing. When I order a cocktail—at Elea, a top-shelf gin cocktail costs $18 plus a $3 surcharge, plus tax and tip (over $50 for two drinks)—I want to savor it. Rushing me to order food detracts from the enjoyment of such a treat. Thankfully, Elea strikes the perfect balance, allowing guests to relax and enjoy each stage of the meal. Of course, the food itself is central. At Elea, the dishes are flavorful, portions are satisfying, and every course feels thoughtfully prepared. The bus staff are attentive without being intrusive, waiting until I’ve truly finished before clearing the table. Dessert is offered but never pushed—a subtle touch that speaks to the restaurant’s professionalism. Elea excels at making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable, leaving guests eager to return. Their team achieves their ultimate goal: creating an atmosphere so welcoming and well-executed that you look forward to coming back again and again.

Elea has long been a favorite restaurant and never disappoints . Our server was exceptional . I’ve never had a bad meal here and service has always been incredibly wonderful. T . he only negative is that the lower floor is not accessible since there is no elevator.

Food and service were very good. All of our selections were delicious. However, the table was too small for 4 people, the tables downstairs had little space between them, and it was very noisy and difficult to hear each other talking.

WHat a great additional to the Upper West Side, which used to be a place of good but ordinary food of many often ethnic types. Elea is a game changer. I ate there several times outside during COVID and had no idea the inside is so elegant and un-Upper West Side (if you've lived here for a long time you know what I mean--before the bazillionaires moved in). Anyway, a first-rate restaurant in every way, and the noise level is bearable, as opposed to unbearable, as it is in so many nice restaurants. Thanks.

It's an amazing restaurant from the food, service and ambiance. Our waiter was great, gave us very nice recommendations and options. The food is delicious, we tried a few of the appetizers and they are a good portion for sharing. Our dinner plates didn't disappoint. We also enjoyed the drinks, especially the Smoke & Fire (if you like Mezcal).
