Ellis Square Social is a neighborhood restaurant and craft cocktail bar located in historic Ellis Square, in the heart of downtown Beverly. Our Depression era building features a bustling dining room, with an authentic tin ceiling, reclaimed wood floor, period lighting, and tufted banquette, providing a warm and comfortable space for an evening out. Casual diners have the choice to seat at our beautiful cast pewter bar for a classic cocktail or craft beer as well as high tops around the bar and counter seating on the window overlooking Cabot Street. At Ellis Square Social, we believe in serving an outstanding home-made product in a sustainable and responsible way, while helping the local economy by buying from local producers.

                                                                Ellis Square Social was a wonderful surprise! The food we ordered was absolutely delicious! Portions were very generous and presentation of food was beautifully designed . We split a huge portion of roasted pear salad with gorgonzola cheese and candied pecans (with huge portion of salmon added), and also split order of three cheese arancini appetizer. Our server was excellent and the restaurant even called me later to track me down after I left my credit card. Can't wait to go back!

                                                                We actually went to Ellis Square two nights in a row and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The first night was to celebrate Valentine’s day and the next night was before a show at The Cabot. All meals were well prepared and the menu had excellent choices.

                                                                Pan sautéed Chicken was excellent. I asked to substitute a different setup and was told no problem. Found at the end it cost $4.00 for substitution. $ not the issue, lack of notice is.

                                                                We were thrilled to have our Valentine's Day dinner at Ellis Square Social. Overall we had a wonderful time. Our server was friendly and attentive, helping us pick drinks and food. I appreciate the effort of adding two new drinks as Valentine's Day specials, but the one we ordered was not great. The cocktail we ordered from the regular menu was fine, but not great. Th charcuterie board appetizer was excellent and our entrees, chicken with risotto and steak frites, both tasted great, but the steak was undercooked. For dessert we shared the maple bourbon creme brûlée, and it was a solid dessert, but not nearly as good (to me) as the sticky toffee pudding we ordered there before. Prices felt slightly high, but great service and ambiance, and really good food. Would definitely recommend!
