    Our first visit for a Sunday lunch at Ember - we are truly lucky to have this stunning restaurant in the north east. The Chef and team did a wonderful roasted lamb and beef - just gorgeous.

    I absolutely love going to ember for Sunday dinner, I think it is the best Sunday dinner in town and the service is always impeccable by the staff it’s a lovely atmosphere inside as well. Unfortunately, the past two times I have been here for Sunday dinner I have had issues with the meat. On the menu it states “pink sirloin beef” the last two times I have been served well done beef. The time before today it was swapped with no issues and the waiter was extremely apologetic about this which was fine and lovely to see. Today this was not the case, the waiter seemed surprised myself and my friend were sending the beef back as it was well done to then bring us beef which was not that pink at all and stating it was the pinkest they had. I would’ve been absolutely fine if they explained they didn’t have pink beef today and I would have gotten something else as it was slightly over cooked. However this was not the case, the beef is usually mouth watering and it pulls apart which you would expect for £22 but unfortunately today this was not the case it was quite tough I’m unsure if it was a different cut to usual but it just was not the same. The rest of the dinner including the veggies and the yorkie pudding were top tier really nice indeed but the main part of the meal, being the “pink” beef was not pink which is very disappointing.

    Fantastic food and service. Took my Grandad for his birthday and he was treated like royalty by the team especially Emily who was great. Will definitely be back when we can.

    Amazing March menu. We stepped out of our comfort zone and tried the Turkish menu. It didn’t disappoint. Absolutely delicious. Thankyou Tam and team for a taste sensation. Amazing staff as always
