Brought to the United States by Rainer Becker, co-founder and creator of Zuma restaurants worldwide and ROKA London, ETARU, is a restaurant featuring contemporary Japanese robatayaki grill cuisine. Offering casual, yet sophisticated, dining at the second-story restaurant, bar & terrace, the space is equally divided indoor and out. The beach bar offers a more relaxed environment with service directly to the sand (Friday – Sunday).

As you indulge in the culinary delights of Etaru, take advantage of its prime location near popular attractions. This place had very few selections available that were listed on the menu. We were told the Branzino and lamb chops were sold out, which was what we wanted to order. You would think restaurants would be prepared for the busiest night of the week!! The wait time was extremely long for subpar food quality. It’s a beautiful restaurant with a nice Ocean View, but that is all it has to offer. You can go many other places in the area, if that is all you want. We had reservations but the hostess sat other people who came after us first. We didn’t get seated until about 25 minutes later, and this was only after complaining to the hostess about the unfairness she displayed. The food is overpriced and service was slow. What a disappointment for us, as we were looking forward to a fantastic night. I would not recommend. Two thumbs down.

Delicious food! The yuzu hamachi crudo, skirt steak with wasabi chimichurri and miso crème brûlée were highlights. The live DJ playing house music was too loud.

Lovely evening. Food was excellent. Servers were friendly and helpful. Some dishes came out fast. Some dishes were slow. Drinks were especially slow. Even so, we will return because ambience was great and food was good.

Been wanting to visit for a while, finally made it! The terrace is great, sunset hour best to see the ocean before it goes dark. The food is very good but not exceptional. Service is very slow…attentive but slow and I had to order ponzu sauce 4x from 3 different servers before it arrived. The oysters were the smallest I have ever seen, and didn’t taste like anything. Dinner for 2 (2 cocktails) was $250.

We paid 48.00 dollars for lamb chops that were not very good. My fish was so so. We live in the building next door. Thinking we could get a good meal. It was 200.00. The waitstaff were friendly. But couldn’t wait to go home.

The kitchen is very good. The service is somewhat clueless for a good restaurant. The bar is better with cocktails than wine perhaps. The management has no idea that customers might be counting carbs on their diet (newsflash, or is it just Ozempic these days).

We had a terrible server however the manager was very kind, and went above and beyond to let us know that the kind of service we received was below their standards and very generously reimbursed us for our troubles. The food itself was very good as always.

Great venue right on the water and stylish restaurant. Food is average, very limited options, especially in terms of sushi. Service was also average, hostess was very welcoming but our waiter was pretty uninvolved and inattentive.
