Evelyn’s is an easy-going local restaurant serving brunch classics by day and refined, small plates by night. With the kitchen centred around a charcoal Inka grill, live fire cooking adds personality to the dishes, taking inspiration from Levantine and Pan-asian favourites. A go-to for the local neighbourhood and travellers alike, the food is seasonal and humble while the intimate setting ensures that the focus is on the food and experience. Evelyn’s accepts bookings for Dinner (from 17:00) and all day Sunday (full roast menu), with Brunch operating on a walk-in basis.

Below Evelyn’s, The Daisy is a Parisian Pigalle-inspired bar with local resident DJs playing every weekend. Enjoy 20% off your bill pre- or post-dinner when you show your reservation. Expect late-night escapism with a plush, loft party energy and a refined drinks menu. The Daisy welcomes walk-ins, but booking is highly recommended.

We were in luck to dine on Tuesday. They are having 30-% off for food and 50% off for wine. Food tasted good, but 3/5 of our food was mostly burnt. Like black burnt 😅 they offered us dessert for that. Lovely service by the way.

Server took too long to approach us and take our order. No name given, no welcome, 10 minutes for a jug of tap water. Food arrived but no drinks. Had to chase up and still had to wait… No apology received. No check backs on food or drinks. Food was okay but nothing more than mediocre. Wouldn’t return !

This is a nice place for the most part, but the service was pretty shocking. It’s tapas style, so things come out when they’re ready, which is fine, but one of our group waited 40 minutes for his dishes to come out, whilst the others had fully eaten everything of theirs. There was no apology or explanation - just a simple “I’m sorry we forgot” would’ve gone a long way, because they definitely did forget (one of the dishes was just a portion of fries, which were very soggy) We waited nearly 20 mins for drinks and never got offered a second one, until they realised we were annoyed about the wait on food. They offered us a round of drinks on the house as an apology, which we were thankful for BUT there was no sign of these after a further 15 mins, after which we’d finished all our food and were ready to go. So all in all, they have some serious service issues to work out. I got the vibe that the staff just weren’t happy, lots of stern faces and at atmosphere… Food tastes great though (when it arrives)
