Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength.
Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running. We also received the Thai select award from the UK Thai Embassy which certifies authenticity and the freshness of our ingredients.
We’re a young team of enthusiastic individuals, who over the last few years have bought our passion and skills to the table.
Parties of six and larger, kindly contact the restaurant directly for reservations. These larger groups will be offered the shared feasting menu only and a deposit of £10 per head needs to be taken to confirm the booking, which will be deducted from your bill.

We had a very delicious taster menu. Every single dish was spot on and well flavoured. The range was from sweet to sour to spicy and very nuanced. The wine selection was great as well. We’ll surely be back.

This was probably the best food based experience we’ve ever had. The restaurant was outstanding, staff were very knowledgeable and the food experience was very unique and creative. We had the feasting menu and it was varied and very cleverly executed.

Delicious - really standout curries, great starters and lovely vibe. Only qualm is that it's quite expensive for what it is, but at least feels like a treat.

The distinctive flavours in every dish were memorable & in great combinations. The second batch of dishes (4/5 items) all came at once - which was a surprise - and would have been more appreciated spaced out. No taking away from the great tastes though!

Try to check the menu beforehand. Most of it contains fish (or fish sauce) so avoid surprises while there. Apart from that, the food was really good, the fried chicken and the fried aubergine particularly. Service was helpful and kind.
