   The roast dinners weren’t the best or the worse we have had recently. We both felt the food could have been warmer as they got cold half way through. We ordered a bottle of larger which we noticed after we had consumed it was out of date. We did mention this to them but no apology received. A coffee was ordered but never turned up with our desserts which was disappointing. The service was acceptable but nothing special

   Disappointed and Won't Be Rushing Back We arrived to find the car park completely full, which initially felt like a good sign, though once inside we wondered where everyone was hiding. Thankfully, we were among the first to be seated, but things started to go downhill quickly from there. I’d been looking forward to trying one of the pub’s cocktails, only to be told they were missing key ingredients — a surprising oversight so early in the day. The starter was actually quite tasty, which gave us a flicker of hope, but the main event — the Sunday lunch — was thoroughly underwhelming. The roast potatoes were soft rather than crunchy, and the chicken, while seasoned decently, had soggy skin. The accompanying veg was a mess: undercooked carrot and parsnip, and leeks that were not only sprouting but also barely cooked. The Yorkshire pudding was the one redeeming part of the meal — large, golden, and exactly what you'd hope for. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t live up to it. The noise level in the pub also climbed to the point where it was genuinely difficult to hold a conversation across the table. Getting the attention of staff for the bill took far longer than it should have, and in the end we went looking for a till. Also worth noting: there were only looked to be two unisex toilets for the whole place, and both were unpleasant — not what you'd expect from a busy pub. Overall, it felt like a pub trading on reputation and location rather than delivering quality or care. Unfortunately disappointing from start to finish.

   We really love The Filly Inn - our meal was excellent, staff efficient, friendly and welcoming. The pub is modern yet traditional and the pub garden is great with lots of different seating arrangements. Lots of lovely little extras like blanket’s outside and fairy lights which add to it’s lovely atmosphere.

   Fantastic staff. Very professional and courteous. Went out if their way to accommodate us after our hike with large muddy dogs in tow! Food was great. Didn’t have to wait long. Staff attentive and looked after ys very well. Highly recommended- many thanks!

   It was such a shame!! We were so excited to come and try out the roast here as we'd heard some fantastic things about the place. We made our booking for 2pm and arrived 5 minutes early. We were shown to our table, but that's where things went downhill! We eventually had to grab the attention of a waitress after 15 minutes so we could order our drinks. Another 10 minutes passed before our drinks (2 glasses of wine) were given to us. We placed our food order at the same time. 2 Roast Beef dinners with 1 side of pigs in blankets and 1 side of braised red cabbage. The food was served to us within about 15 minutes. But then the biggest problem was that it was barely warm - inedible. The beef also had more fat on it than meat which we found really strange. We did not get a table check so I could ask for my food to be warmed up. I sat there for about 20 minutes watching Dan eat his tepid food, but sorry, my, by now, stone cold vegetables just didn't do it for me. When the waitress eventually came over to ask if I was still going, I replied that I couldn't really start! It was dealt with in a professional way however, and we didn't have to pay a penny for anything. I really hate to complain, so I found that difficult, but I was in no way paying for that food.

   Main course,Trout needed a sauce with it , aside from that was nice. Baked Alaska was a bit naff , not what I expected at all. A cold solid lump of ice cream wrapped in cold meringue

    Excellent food very friendly welcome and service very efficient. Third visit with our chocolate lab and definitely won't be our last.
