Our waiter Tori was amazing. She communicated with use well when there was a delay with some of the food aiming out together. She was very pleasant and personable. Nobody at the table enjoyed the greens so we advised the manager Aimee that they were salty and she wasn’t the most pleasant however she did replace them with another side. The issue was that the greens were salty. She came back to let us know that they were at the end of the pot of greens which could cause it to taste that way. Gilbert (another manager) came out and spoke with us and had a more welcoming and pleasant tone and advised that a new pot was being made. Overall the experience wasn’t horrible. I’d just recommend better customer service from management and if it is known that the greens get salty close to the end to taste them before sending them out to ensure that they are ready for serving.

Fixins is quickly becoming one of my favorite Downtown restaurants! The food is absolutely delicious, the environment is very inviting and celebratory of Black culture, and you get a nice amount of food for reasonable prices. I came on opening night and I had the oxtail. 12/10 The portion sizes were more than fair. I think I had 5-6 nicely-sized oxtail over a bed of rice. Last night I tried the fried chicken dinner and it did not disappoint. The chicken was well-seasoned and perfectly crispy. Not a single piece was dry or overcooked. The greens were tender and well-flavored. They do have a taste of vinegar which I love but I know that can be a preference. The mac and cheese was cheesy, the noodles were not overcooked and the biscuit didn’t make me choke. Love, love, love this restaurant. I think this will be the next place on the list for girls night out.

Located in Paradise Valley internationally. This feels good going to a BOB. Our reservations were timely met upon our arrival. Service was attentive early and our appetizer came out very fast; fried green tomatoes were fried right and the sauce was just the right spice. Cocktail was a great twist on an Old Fashioned (Black Wall Old Fashioned). The Oxtails were fall off the bone, some of the best that I have had. Sides were mac n cheese and collards greens. Mac was good and greens had a bit of a zing that I liked. Bonus was the Executive Chef making his rounds (Chef Coach). That speaks volumes for me. All in all I will be back. BoB excellency!

Fixins Soul Kitchen is a dinning gem in Detroit. Awesome soul food, atmosphere and exceptional customer service. The decor brings you back to the good old days and time to reminisce. Our waitress was simple the best, she was cheerful, courteous and right on spot regarding every item on the menu. Our party was large enough to share all of the fixins and they were excellent. The adult kool aid was off the chain, good, good and good!

Food was zero out of 10, my server Chrissy was amazing… Food was cold and distasteful…. Kool aid was full of sugar… first time was a charm, second time was ok, third time not so good… if management can reach out to me that would be great…

The shrimp and grits are excellent. The oxtails melt off the bone. Honey biscuits are the bomb.com!
