Atmosfera affascinante

Forcella is bringing old-world Italian food to the North End of Boston.
Nino Trotta — who owns Forcella alongside his girlfriend, general manager and co-owner Shannon MacGowan, and his brother, wine director Christian Trotta — say that the cozy, candlelit vibe of the restaurant sets Forcella apart in a sea of massive North End restaurants.
“It’s tiny, 30 seats,” he said. “It’s perfect for a date.”
The kitchen team has designed a menu that includes dishes from all over Italy, with a slight lean toward Naples, where the Trotta family is from. Primi dishes include meatballs, crispy quail, while pastas range from linguine alle vongole and risotto to gnocchi with braised rabbit. Salmon, ribeye, round out the menu.

Everything was fabulous! Food was absolutely delicious. The best duck we have ever eaten. The chef even came out to see us and thank us for the compliment. Our waitress was lovely too. A superb find. Will definitely return when in Boston again

I have traveled the world and this restaurant was the best food I have ever had in my life!! Also, our waitress, Sarah, was so sweet and efficient!! I will be dreaming about this food! Can’t wait to come back!! PS - get the gnocchi with rabbit… you’ll thank me later!

Lovely, charming place with excellent food. The pastas were perfectly executed. Service is attentive and professional but not obtrusive. The only minor quibble was was the music cranked up - totally unnecessary since the small room gets lively from conversation. All in all would recommend.

We made a reservation for 5pm and was seated immediately. Our server was attentive and checked in on us frequently without being too intrusive. She was wonderful and cleared our plates quickly after we finished and was quick to refill drinks as she noticed they were getting low. The food was delicious and worth the price!

Food was excellent and service was spot on. We were outside so it was a little chilly until they started the outside heaters. Think they were waiting on propane tanks to arrive. There was a lovely atmosphere and we had a wonderful evening. Just as a note if you have mobility issues maybe outside is not a good option as the stairs to the bathrooms are extremely steep. For us it wasn’t an issue but I could imagine it would be an issue for some.

Stay away. Management is the worst. Cancelled our reservation even though half of our party had checked in. They were so confused. Plenty of other great, well run places in the North End to dine instead of this place.

My husband and I were in town visiting family. We stumbled upon Forcella last minute and decided to try it out. The night started great, we were able to be seated early and inside versus the outdoor reservation that we had at a later time. Walking in the restaurant is very cute and quaint. We were seated in between a very energetic table that made it very difficult to hear my husband across the table. The noise from the table and the music made it very difficult to hear. Our service was fantastic and the food was great. We would consider trying again when we’re in the area again.

We had a wonderful dining experience. Service was perfect, attentive but not intrusive. I have high standards for rye and bourbon drinks and the Sicilian sazerac met and exceeded them. The food was delicious and the portions were generous without being overwhelming. The ambiance was cozy, comfortable and romantic in a smaller space with few tables. The noise level quiet to moderate so conversation was easily heard

Wine dinner was outstanding! Christian offered insightful commentary on each wine pairing and as always, the food was outstanding.
