    While we were visiting York we wanted to have a meal with a special friend and bring our dogs. What a great choice. A table that was slightly to one side so we weren’t in close proximity to anyone else. Very friendly and accommodating staff and delicious food and wine. Also a very relaxed atmosphere so no pressure to hurry and very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful evening. Infact we liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch!

    One of the best dining experiences I’ve had. The restroom ambience was perfect, the food (all 3 courses) were outstanding- slightly pricey but 100% worth it. The waiting staff were very kind and helpful. Would recommend this to friends and family and hope to visit again in the future! I will be thinking about the beef brisket and truffle mash for a long time!

    Having read lots of great reviews about the Forest we decided it was about time to check out if it was as good as we'd heard and so glad we did. It more than lived up to expectations. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Will definitely be going again and would highly recommend to others. A little gem of a place.

    We’ve visited every time we are in York and tonight was the best food we’ve eaten yet it was amazing Can’t fault the lovely staff and once again can’t overstate how nice the food was

    Really love meal on New Years Eve, service was fantastic and the food very tasty. Portions very generous and unfortunately had to leave quite a lot. Really lovely restaurant

    Great food we have lived in York for almost 3 years and have tried a lot of restaurants over the time and we can definitely say the food but more important the staff are amazing and very friendly especially the two young ladies that was serving tonight ( new years eve ) hats of to the owners for having great staff that is a rarity nowadays

    Superb steak and the fruit crumble and custard was to die for. Excellent service by David and the two female waitresses. Not rushed ( even though it was New Year’s Eve) . Lovely meal

    Everything was superb the only thing negative was at times I was slightly cold but we were sat near the door! But I felt the draught seemed to be coming from inside (? Possibly aircon) Everything else Fab
