Drawing inspiration from the region’s history and natural surroundings, the 156-seat freestanding restaurant reflects elemental themes of wood, water, iron, and fire, reminiscent of the carriage houses and blacksmith shops that once dotted the landscape. The centerpiece of Forge & Vine is an eight-foot wood fired grill and open kitchen with counter seating where guests can enjoy dinner while interacting with the chef. Welcoming residents as well as visitors to the area, Forge & Vine offers a strong sense of place with a design sensibility that brings in the outside with floor to ceiling windows offering breathtaking pastoral views of Gibbett Hill. Been here many many times over the years, and always had a great meal. Unfortunately , It is becoming unaffordable. The service and the waitress were excellent, Food was just ok, and very overpriced. The fries I had with my $ 24.00 hamburger were so salty they couldn’t be eaten..

Always a great experience at "The Forge". Service is excellent, drinks are great, food is terrific, ambiance is wonderful. Highly recommend trying some of the appetizers as well as some of the signature cocktail drinks. The main courses are always wonderful - you don't make a mistake with any of them. It's also the only place where we always have dessert - they are creative and wonderful. Enjoy!

My wife had braised ribs, and I had steak frites. Both were cooked to perfection and the service provided by Robert was excellent. For those with a moderate appetite, be aware that the quantities of food are substantial. Salads are huge, so you may want to opt for the half size. The only downside is that the noise level is quite high.

The hostess staff was excellent. The server didn’t have much of a personality. The food was not good at all. My beef tenderloin was chewy brussels sprouts were undercooked. We ordered the pumpkin cheesecake, it tasted nothing like cheesecake. It was dry and tasted like a spice cake will not be returning The value for the money was subpar.

Lavender salmon was great as was the short ribs! The flowerless chocolate torte was very rich and the sour cherries and almonds complemented it perfectly!

The dining room was so beautifully decorated, and the view of Gibbet Hill breathtaking! The food was delicious, albeit a bit expensive for our taste. The waitress was prompt, kind and helpful as we asked for a picture.

Fabulous restaurant, food is prepared to perfection, ambience that warms and welcomes, and staff who are friendly and professional (and remember us from prior visits). We have the means and make the 40 minute drive a few times a month because we love everything about the place. What a special treat it is in the summer to gaze out the glass in back upon what surely appears as Vermont, with the hills and grass, and in years past, cows grazing. Forge and Vine is a special place and we will forever be patrons.
