   I don’t understand the good reviews. Pleasant but extremely slow service in an almost empty restaurant. Grilled calamari had good sauce and great grill flavor but was cut so thick and unevenly as to be undercooked and basically inedible. Black pasta with spicy shrimp sauce- great sauce but pasta cooked to mush. Pasta with sausage and broccoli rabe - the most boring version of this dish I’ve ever had - needed tons of cheese to get any flavor. A nice organic chianti. The menu as a whole- designed for no surprises whatsoever. Astonishing that this place survives in a city with so many great Italian places.

   Wonderful restaurant. Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. The homemade pasta and sauce makes this a special spot for us.

   We recently returned to Fragole following a hiatus of 2+ years due to the pandemic. This gem in the heart of the Carroll Gardens Court Street business district did not disappoint. My linguini nere alla arrabiata entree was delicious with a nice, spicy kick. Of course, Fragole is known for its fabulous pasta. The dinner crowd here is very enthusiastic, and I suggest arriving early if your party would like to converse at a comfortable volume. You can't go wrong at Fragole!

   Food was excellent. Service was hospitable but a bit erratic. My daughter and didn’t finish all of our food and I asked waiter to please bring us boxes so we could wrap up our food to take home. He insisted on wrapping it for us in the kitchen. He brought back two bags which ended up only containing my husband’s leftovers but our meals were missing. Really disappointed because we paid for our meals and offered to box them up. I understand Saturday nights are busy but we had a lot of food leftover and specifically asked to take jt home.

    Fragole is our much-loved local Italian in Carroll Gardens. Victor and Claudio, who run it, are wonderfully hospitable and convivial. The pasta is always perfect--al dentissimo!--and I've only ever had delicious food here.
