   Lovely traditional English food, big fan of the pickled pigeon and pork belly. Service was lowkey, friendly, prompt and overall excellent.

   The perfect neighbourhood bistro. Fish cookery especially strong, sourced from excellent local suppliers. Fair prices for wines by the glass and my son swears by the draught Guinness.

   We like Franklins but ut is now tge third time we had to be assertive about the table given to us It is also a problem that the waitresses don't fully understand tge dishes. Despite asking for beef and veal to be well done they arrived medium. The veal dish definitely needed a side despite the waitress' advice The vegetarian option is never great This time it was much too salty and the pulses were hard The starters were lovely and fresh. Half bottles of wine are appreciated and nice selection too. Service efficient and polite. Noise level on a Saturday night quite difficult as tables are very close together. So a mixed experience.

   Lovely sunny day but put downstairs with no other diners. The mackerel was not the whole fish as stated by the waitress. The two beef roasts were awful. Full of fat and inedible. One of the bowls of cabbage was full of water. Very little apology from the staff who didn't really care. One of the roast beef lunches was taken off the bill but too little too late!!

   We have been to Franklins a few times and it never disappoints. The food was wonderful, they always have something new in their daily menu and flavours are always full of depth and just delicious. The set menu is a steal, the desserts are always a highlight. We always make sure we save space for them. The service was great and is nice and quiet during lunch time at week days. We wish we lived closer so we could come more often.

    Late lunch with my mum. Wasn't busy but not empty, we could chat not feeling rushed to eat... Our food with good table service did not disappoint. Value for money, we ate and drank simply which suited our mood. Been before, will go again!
