   We ate at Gao on a Sunday night after a very rainy day and therefore were not able to eat outdoors. The outdoor dining would have been beautiful had the weather cooperated. The inside of the restaurant was lovely as well and really very quiet. I had Shrimp Pad Thai which was tasty but not any better than any pad thai i've had at a local Thai place, and my husband had Beef Pho which was disappointing to him. The broth was tasty but there were hardly any veggies and it wasn't any better than our local Vietnamese place. The service was attentive. There were lots of other menu items which I would have tried but seeing as it was just us two we really couldn't. This is a great place if you want a "fancy" Asian experience or if you don't have really good Thai or Vietnamese food near you.

   The food and ambience is amazing here! The crunch spring rolls and beef satay are deeeelish! Also the chicken and kale salad. All of it!

   We dine at a lot of South Beach restaurants. Gao is one of the best.

   The service needs to be more attentive: checking on water and wine on table - asking if anything else needed and generally caring for guests

    Lovely setting with attractive decor and lighting. Attentive service. Gracious welcome. Food is delicious and particularly good for sharing. Kind response to our request to lower music volume.
