Set on the historic campus of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone, Gatehouse Restaurant showcases the talents of CIA students who have completed two years of rigorous study, under the supervision of our world-class faculty. Overall five start experience! We love coming to the Gatehouse at CIA. The students are incredibly talented and kind and the food is out of this world !! Special shoutout to James and Amanda who went above and beyond beyond at our visit.

We did the four course lunch for restaurant week and it was fabulous! Such creative and beautifully presented food! Thoughtfully paired wines, and excellent service too! Definitely worth the price, such a wonderful experience all around!

We enjoyed our 3 course lunch menu because there were plenty of options to choose from. We were allowed to choose 3 different selections under different categories (from starters, appetizers, main entree's to desserts categories). We can tell that the staff are mostly students who are eager to learn how to elevate the dining experience. We were also allowed to enter the kitchen area, where the main chef and students were working in, and were given a short tour.

I love this place. The ambience, the price point the service. I think it’s very cool the experience the students get. The food last night was amazing.

This was a complete dining experience. Old school elegance with youthful enthusiasm . The food choices are varied, beautifully arranged and oh so delicious. Courses are nicely paced so you never feel rushed. I enjoyed chatting with our Maitre d’, wait staff and servers. I would encourage anyone to enjoy this gourmet dining experience in the heart of wine country. Two thumbs up. Way up!

We were recommended by Mauricio Gutierrez and what a treat we were in for! Connor, Michael, Matt and Amanda were AMAZING! The food was delicious and the attention to detail was outstanding! Each person was friendly, knowledgeable and gracious! Thank you so much!! This student-run establishment is a diamond of a find! We will be back!

Fifth time here. This was one of the best. When one dish was incorrectly prepared they immediately fixed it and brought an extra course as an apology. When it's firing on all cylinders, the resto is as good as the Michelin rated places in the valley. When it misses a beat, it's still a deal that can't be beat. An added plus is the charm and enthusiasm of the student servers. Gives you hope for the younger generation.

We LOVED our experience at the Gatehouse ….when we found out that it was only day 3 for the students serving this menu, we were floored!! The food and wine pairings weee phenomenal - we are repeat fans and our friends were first time visitors and LOVED the experience! Soooo good!!
