Just a short stroll from Waverley Station and steps from St. Andrew Square, Gaucho Edinburgh is our first restaurant in Scotland, bringing the finest free-range, grass-fed Aberdeen Angus beef from Argentina to the heart of the city.

We proudly celebrate Scottish produce, working with Campbell’s Meats, the world-renowned IJ Mellis cheesemonger and Mark Murphy fruit and vegetables. Of course, we have a cocktail using Irn Bru and are pleased to serve Stewart’s Craft Lager, brewed out of Loanhead.

The first signs of Spring have arrived in full bloom across the country. It is this seasonal shift that has inspired our new set lunch menu, featuring Gaucho classics and spring favourites alike. Crispy prawns with a spicy aji amarillo sauce and pickled onions are the perfect complement to the warming weather before diving into a Gaucho staple rump steak with a generous helping of chips and chimichurri sauce. Or, opt for the pan-fried sea bream with a lively salsa verde and rocket salad before indulging in a sweet Dulce de Leche pancake with a scoop of banana split ice cream. Join us from 12:00 – 16:00 at your favourite Gaucho to explore for yourself. Two courses for just £17.95, or three for £19.95.

L'esperienza non è stata male, ma poteva andare molto meglio. La location era carina, ma ci hanno parcheggiato in un tavolo per due vicino alla cucina e sotto un faro di luce fastidioso, nonostante avessimo prenotato con largo anticipo. Il personale davvero molto cortese e preparato, e abbiamo apprezzato la pazienza per non capire la lingua diversa. Abbiamo dovuto aspettare più di mezz'ora per una porzione di carne e un contorno, tuttavia ci è stata portata una porzione di patatine per l'inconveniente (almeno credo). Il filetto era davvero molto buono e tenero, tuttavia non hanno rispettato la cottura richiesta (media) perché superficialmente era parzialmente bruciato. Inoltre, il contorno di "teneri" broccoli grigliati corrispondeva ad un piattino con 5 rametti di verdura totalmente crudi. Alla fine, la ragazza che ci aveva accompagnato al tavolo ci ha detto che potevamo chiedere di cambiare il cibo, ma non lo abbiamo fatto per non aspettare ulteriormente per mangiare. Ci è dispiaciuto molto perché in realtà dalle nostre parti si mangia bene, speriamo in esperienze migliori.

Tutto pessimo. Solo la bistecca sufficiente. Il resto terribile, antipasti voto zero, costolette di angnello idem. Il vino salvabile. Conto spropositato.

As usual the food and table service was excellent. Only downside this time was a broken coffee machine and some outstanding repairs to the toilet facilities. So ambience a bit down on normal. How they fix this small stuff soon.

Amazing value from March 2025 Dine Out in Edinburgh menu and great service even though we were not ordering from a la carte. The lift is super handy, accessibility is not an issue despite dining room on lower ground floor.
