In 1959, Frank and Tina D'Ambrosio decided to start a new restaurant venture along with their "Paisans" Mario and Enza Volpe, after Frank had much success with his first restaurant, the original "Frankie, Johnnie, and Luigi Too! In Mountain View, CA. Named after a good friend of theirs, they opened the original "Giorgio's" in the Foxworthy Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. One year later, cousins Anthony and Louise Dambruoso, affectionately known to the family as "Sash and Lou", took control of the restaurant and ran it for the next eight years. Pictures and paintings of these folks still grace the walls of the establishment today. In 1968, Frank's four sons assumed control of the restaurant and still own and operate it to this day. In 1997 they opened a second location in Milpitas, CA, in 2023 another in Morgan Hill and now back in Mountain View, where they still offer the highest standard of quality food, service, and value to their customers. Friendly and efficient service. Outdoor covered seating with propane heating, for chilly evenings, available. A wide variety of food selections, from salads, Homemade Minestrone, Bruschetta & Calamari Fritti, to Eggplant Parmigiana, Cacciuccio (one of our favorites), Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmigiana, Scampi Griglia, New York Lasagna, ravioli, Spaghetti Pomodori with Shrimp… plus burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, Calzones and various desserts.

Great spot, delicious food - we had the filet mignon and fresh mushroom fettuccini and the quatrro formaggi pizza - great friendly service. Highly recommend!

This was our first visit since the remodel. The inside seating is limited so we sat in the outdoor patio for dinner. It was comfortable with nearby heating lamps. The food was delicious and tasty. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. We would come back again.

The food is the good, same as when it was Frankie, Johnny and Luigi. Service is the same also, not great. My son ordered off the adult menu because it wasn’t on the kids menu and the waiter offered a child portion which was nice. But when the check came, he was charged for chicken on his pasta which we declined, but was then told that’s what had to be charged since it’s not on the menu. Had we been told, my son could have just eaten the chicken. The indoor seating is very limited. Only 6 tables. We squished my family of 5 into a table really meant for 4 people. I might do take out but wouldn’t eat there again.

We were thrilled to find that the food was just as good as we remembered it from the “old” days of F, J, & L. The pizza was perfection-delicious crust. Generous and fresh salads, yummy cheese bread, very nice minestrone with tortellini in it. Can’t wait to go back and try some other menu items.

Food was excellent, I had the Caesar salad (generous portion), shrimp scampi (shrimp a good size, interesting rice, excellent vegetable mixture) and finally the sundae. Glass of CA Savig Blance was very good. Small seating area indoors, large outside dining area in a tent. Attentive service.

Inside seating was limited otherwise everything else was great! The service was so good. We had a birthday celebration and they took care of the cake we brought. Definitely a do over.

We were very happy to see Giorgio (formally FJ&L) back. If you were looking for that old style Italian restaurant….gone, but with the new look, we liked the atmosphere. We sat in one of their end tables indoors with one side was a booth, very comfortable. All the tables were filled and because we sat at the end, we thought the noise level was fine. We were a party of 3 with reservations at 6:45. Parking was easy. The pizza is still as delicious as we remembered. We customed ordered a small pizza: sausage, mushrooms, onions, & green peppers. There were plenty of fresh toppings with a nice Sicilian crust. For one of the entrees, one guest ordered shrimp scampi which was delicious and nicely plated. It was nice to dip your garlic roll in the sauce. The clam spaghetti was not edible. They were tiny clams that tasted like they were from a can over sea even though there was a few clams that were in the shell. The guest chose the wine broth which seemed tasteless. It needed more garlic and flavor, maybe fresh chopped Italian parsley. Recipe needs to be reinvented maybe with fresh Manila clams. We have had many clam vongole and this was probably the worst. Overall, we enjoyed two out of the three meals. It was nice that our waiter comped the clam spaghetti. However, we were a little taken when he mentioned that this dish has never had a complaint. (It’s best nothing said then throwing the ball back to our court.)What were we supposed to say?!? We would definitely come back to try the other dishes and the wonderfully delicious pizzas. We were sad to see that our old favorites like the veal and the chicken farfalle wasn’t on the menu any more. But maybe in the future. Enjoy!
