AAAAmazing food! As good as any sushi I've had anywhere. At least in terms of nigiri and sashimi which is how I rate sushi places. I can't comment on any of the "foo-foo" rolls (as I derogatorily call them - lol) 'cause I prefer the more basic types of sushi. The amount of fish per piece was about normal - not too skimpy like many of the really high-end places. I had: bluefin, tako, mackerel (NOT Spanish), yellowtail - all 2-piece nigiri - and a sashimi salad. Also of note: their ginger was exceptional! Not the usual, overly harsh flavor, so it must have been treated somehow to "mute" the flavor. The only dings are for: 1. noise (it's inside a large, open building along with other restaurants). A very nice, contemporary and pleasing space, but a little noisy. Bestia in DTLA being a 10 on the noise level (unable to carry on a conversation) this is about a 7. 2. Service. It seemed they were a little under-staffed (not so unusual nowadays) and we had an less-than-optimally-experienced server. A few minor mistakes and sushi was slow to come out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding SDRW Experience at Glass Box! We dined at Glass Box for the last night of San Diego Restaurant Week, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant, nestled within the stunning Sky Deck at Del Mar Highlands, offers an intimate yet lively atmosphere that perfectly complements the exquisite menu. The three-course SDRW menu did not disappoint—each dish was not only delicious but beautifully presented, truly a work of art. The flavors were well-balanced, fresh, and thoughtfully curated. From the first bite to the last, everything was exceptional. Beyond the food, the service was top-notch. The staff was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive, ensuring our experience was seamless from start to finish. They made us feel genuinely welcomed, adding an extra special touch to the evening. Glass Box is a must-visit, whether for Restaurant Week or a special night out. We’ll definitely be back soon! 🍣✨

Came here for restaurant week, so I was able to try the wonton soup, sashimi, dim sum, pork belly with bokchoy, and the white fish dish. Everything tasted delicious. Lots of diverse flavors, perfect temperature, great textures and the aroma of the food was excellent. Service was spot-on. I will be back!!

What a great spot. Food was great. service was excellent. Once ordered, the food was being brought to the table. Very quickly prepared. We felt like we were VIP's.

The Glass Box remains one o f our favorite restaurants, for its diverse and innovative menu--including unusual sushi--excellent cocktails and good service, but ew were disappointed in the 5-course Restaurant Week meal in January 2025, primarily because of the meager portions--in particular a lasrge teaspoon of steak tartare and a fish filet entree that spanned only a few bites. Suggest you skip RW and order from the menu.
