Goldies’ menu focuses on the use of a wood-fired grill, with a selection of small and large plates connected by rich, smoky flavours.
Highlights include a Marinated Baby Chicken with smoked yoghurt, the incredible BBQ Corn mixed in a delicious Parsley Butter and the unique Goldies Burger.
In a nod to the founders’ French roots, variations of the iconic Frites are the signature of the restaurant, which are hand-cut and twice-cooked, in either beef dripping or vegetable oil.

The design of the space is centred on the expertise of wood-fired cooking, with kitchen counter seating to create a dramatic dining experience for guests. The interiors are cosy and vibrant, with contemporary decoration, terracotta warm tones and a groovy musical atmosphere. Goldies features a noteworthy terrace that fits 30 guests.

                                                        Excellent, relaxed atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. Expect informal but nevertheless well prepared food and lots of fries!

                                                        Loved the food, but we realised once we left that we were never served one of our starters (BBQ Corn) which I believe we were charged for (my fault for not checking the bill, but we definitely never got to have this dish). We were also disappointed with the wait for our food to arrive. Waiter did apologise but only after a long wait. Frozen glasses for the beer was a lovely touch and I would come again.

                                                        Not as good as it used to be when it first opened and received positive press. There were only two servers who were desperately struggling to keep up. We had to ask for a lot of the basics - wine, table clearing, cutlery etc. Not at all slick. Struggled with wine service, brought mains before starters were cleared. Food was still good - wonderful big green salad, great, crispy chips and really flavoursome starters (corn ribs are really good), it just felt like the love was gone... perhaps we had a bad day. I've been four or five times and this is the first time it has fallen a bit short. Will definitely go back, but if it is the same as last night then it will be the last time. I hope it is not a victim of its own success which sees many restaurants fall from grace.

                                                        Lovely food and great service. Waitress even beckoned me over for private chat to enquire about special occasion that I'd selected on booking form and if she could do anything!

                                                        The food tasted delicious, the tables were very close together though so you felt very hemmed in, and they had to keep the doors open despite the cold because of the smoke which made for a weird ambiance. I recommend the chips!

                                                        We went for the Goldies burger. Lovely lil sesame seed naan bread with a kofte like burger, lots of sweet onion and what seemed to be burger sauce. This item was the only on item we order that felt some what seasoned. The pickle attached was sad and felt very much like an after thought. We order a salad that had so much oil it masked everything. If there was seasoning you couldn't taste it. We got some chicken skewers, best part of that was the banana peppers which where exactly like those you get in a doner kebab. Chips were okay as were the dips. Would I go again, no. Would I recommend to anyone, no.

                                                        Always a pleasure to eat at Goldies. There's integrity and philosophy underpinning the menu - the wood fire, the abundant herbs and spices, the superb contrast between the unctuous and the refreshing. It's a delightful array of delicious treats and the whole menu feels coherent and sophisticated - but never pretentious. We had the special. The 550gm sirloin seared to give it attitude, finished in the oven to give it a phenomenal consistency...superb. Big side of those stunning golden fries and added a significant salad of Broccoli and Chef Will's sparkle of elevating extras... pomegranate seeds included... little gems on a brilliant combo. Thanks Team. Graceful and Inspired. Go. Eat. Be happy.

                                                        Booked Goldies for a friend’s birthday. Staff were not attentive/ didn’t seem like they wanted to help at all. A small gesture of wishing the birthday girl a happy birthday would have gone a long way. We wanted to order the special which was a sharing steak and chips, they had sold out by 8. We the proceeded to order the burger which was essentially what tasted like a cheap lamb kofta on aldi flatbread which you could barely see under a mountain of pickled onion. Not very impressed I’m sad to say, I was looking forward to my evening here and had it on my list for a while.
