We had chosen this restaurant as it was part of the Hilton where we were staying and close to Winter Wonderland where we were taking the children. To start with they did not have our booking for 8 people despite us having confirmation. Then as the table wasn’t ready we had to wait 30 minutes with nobody informing us how much longer it would be and we had to continually find somebody to ask. We had two 9 yr old girls with us and we had booked ice skating so we had allowed 2 hours to eat which we thought was plenty of time. We booked the table for 16.30 as we thought it would be quieter then. How wrong we were. From taking our drinks order to the time it took the food to arrive took over 2 hours and we missed our slot for ice skating. Everyone was rushing to eat fast so we could try and make it so it wasn’t the nice relaxing family meal we had planned. The food was very expensive for what it was, and smaller than average portions too. We complained while we were there and the staff were apologetic but this restaurant was not busy at the time so this experience should not have happened. We won’t be returning again as there are far better restaurants in Cardiff for both service and quality for money.

The food was lovely. The drinks order was wrong after they took half an hour to take it, (the waiter sensibly chose to remake a potentially alcoholic non alcoholic cocktail for my daughter). They had a new waiter on who is going to be an absolute asset if they keep him. For now though he needed much more support. He apologised, and meant it but clearly felt the burden of inappropriate staffing that was never his responsibility. In a city full of restaurants, I would on balance, be unlikely to return to this one.

Lovely food. We waited ages for water so eventually had to go and ask for it as one of our party wasn’t drinking and that was his beverage choice but other than that it was all good.

We were lucky to find this gem of a place in a very busy Cardiff match night! The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive.

A really disappointing experience overall. On arrival the team didn’t have my booking. Once we were seated we were treated like 2nd class citizens because we were in rugby shirts. It took 15mins for drinks to be served, and over 45-mins for starters. Others who were seated after us were served much quicker than us. When the food did come out it was not good quality and much of it had probably been left on the pass for some time. Despite numerous chasers we had to rush our food in the end because it all took so long and the waiting staff just didn’t seem to care. The only saving grace was the manager taking 50% off our bill because of the overall poor experience, which he simply shouldn’t have needed to do had we been looked after like all other patrons. It left a really sour taste in my mouth for what should have been a really lovely start to our family day out.
