Hamrock's Restaurant is located within the Moore-McCandlish House (built 1842) in the heart of historic Fairfax City. We've been proud to serve delicious made-to-order American dishes using fresh ingredients since our establishment in 2016. We also have a wonderful hand-selected wine list to enhance your dining experience. Approximately eighty-percent of our menu is-- or can be-- gluten-free, as we use only canola and olive oil in all of our cooking. Some of our best-selling dishes are our southern fried chicken, grilled meatloaf, and crab cakes-- all which are gluten free! Other menu favorites include our deviled eggs, firecracker shrimp, Atlantic grilled salmon, roasted pork tenderloin, and penne pasta with andouille sausage & shrimp. We have beautiful year-round outdoor seating options on our wrap around porch (we have heaters!) In the warmer months, we also open our courtyard. We're also more than happy to accommodate business dinners or other special occasions in private rooms.

Delicious food! We enjoyed the bruschetta and Brussels sprout appetizers, along with the lobster/crab ravioli. Also enjoyed the penne pasta with shrimp and andouille sausage.

We have been going to Hamrocks for many years and always enjoyed it. This time proved to be an exception. Three of our four meals were subpar. It retrospect we should have sent them back. My penne primavera was tasteless.. The Squash Risotto was mushy, cheessy and didn't taste anything like squash. The meatloaf was just adequate. The crabcakes were excellent. The deviled eggs were great as were the popovers and corn muffins. We will probably go back again because of our past experiences there.

Hamrock's has been a stand-out in Fairfax ever since it opened. It was perfect for our early dinner. We sat out on the porch surrounded by bushes and enjoyed crab cakes and grilled salmon. Everything was prepared wonderfully, and the wait staff are very friendly and attentive. Hamrock's also has a very broad wine list with several less expensive selections. We highly recommend Hamrock's!

I reserving on OpenTable I was able to notify the restaurant that this was our wedding anniversary. The restaurant gave us complementary Prosecco and also a free dessert. The service was impeccable, and efficient, the food is always very well prepared and artfully presented. I can’t say enough nice things about this restaurant and being gluten sensitive. They have so many options for people who are gluten sensitive. I chose the butternut squash soup and the rockfish entrée. My husband had the firecracker shrimp which is also gluten-free and it was fabulous, and he had scallops as well. One thing I would really really like to see, however is if hammocks could offer a gluten-free roll Before the dinner. The rolls are not gluten-free, and I thought about bringing my own, but if they could offer one gluten-free roll, that would be terrific.

Absolutely one of our favorites, and we especially love the lobster special. Everything was superb and we especially loved the butternut squash soup and the bread pudding. We will be back soon!

We very much enjoyed our Rock fish dinner at Hamrock's in Fairfax City, VA. The food quality and presentation were exceptional. It is obvious that much care is taken by the kitchen staff in meal preparation and plate arrangements. The service staff is very friendly and well-trained. The restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere in an interesting older house setting with porch and garden seating. In short, Hamrock's is a quality venue and offers an enjoyable dining experience.

Our group of ladies was celebrating a birthday. We had great service and the food was fresh and tasty. Our server surprised us with a lovely dessert to share for the birthday girl along with a small glass of champagne for each of us. We had a fun time at Hamrocks!
