Milwaukee’s premier lakefront dining destination, Harbor House is a bright, spacious New England-style seafood restaurant on the shore of Lake Michigan. With picturesque lake views, guests will be taken on a journey through New England with its reimagined menu, including a variety of dishes from Cape Cod, Nantucket, New Bedford, Martha’s Vineyard, Newport, and Boston.

Reservations are recommended, and we have a 15-minute grace period, so please call us if you are running late.
It's important to note that patio reservations are for outdoors only and we cannot guarantee indoor seating upon inclement weather.

Excellent service, lovely atmosphere. Two things: 1) Some of the menu is wonderful and some is not so order carefully. My son ordered the lobster roll, lobster mac, and some oysters and said it was all fantastic. My husband's said his cioppino was just OK, and for me the vegetarian pappardelle pasta on the menu right now is just a very strange combination of ingredients -- felt like the Project Runway show where they tell the contestant that their outfit would have been better if they had just dialed it back. However they did accommodate my request to make the tomato sauce so it was not spicy which was much appreciated and speaks to the level of restaurant they are. 2) We were a party of three and fortunate and grateful to be seated near windows with such a lovely view of the art museum. But be forewarned that if you are a party of two then at least on busy nights you might be seated in a series of tables for two that should really just be an aisle and probably is just an aisle on less busy nights. We would not dine at Harbor House as a party of two on a busy night for fear of being seated at one of these tables. Would absolutely go and sit at the bar as a party of two however, the bar area is lovely.

Lovely Holiday weekend family lunch, nice atmosphere and killer view. Food excellent and service was relaxed and well-paced. Excellent cocktails! Convenient valet parking. Will return when in the area!

Maybe my expectations were too high but steak was overdone and service was par. Seafood was good, but seriously not worth the $800 for 6 people. I’ve been on several occasions, probably not for a while.

To be honest, I was unsure what to expect. Several (about 5) years ago the experience had not been pleasant. So decided to try again; I’m very glad I did - it was an awesome experience. The drinks, their specials, were superb. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, great recommendations. The meal came quickly, everything that should have been hot was, I had a beet salad with feta cheese that was to die for. We splurged on a very nice bottle of wine, my wife’s roasted chicken she said was delicious and while there were two lobster selections, the waitress helped me make a good decision - the result was fantastic, both in size, appearance & taste. Admittedly we spent more than I intended, however it was worth every dollar! Oh I should mention the small but nice raw bar; I have some familiarity with oysters and the NB selection was excellent. I rarely leave this long or detailed review, however, we will definitely return to the Milwaukee Harbor House and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants a great restaurant experience!!

The steak had a lot of gristle, the beans weren't "crisp tender", more like crisp raw. The waiter was friendly but not attentive. I asked to see the desserts and he didn't bring them or a dessert menu. He seemed more interested in turning the table. Very disappointing considering the bill was nearly $200.00 for two people.

Great staff and food. Restaurant was crowded but it was easy to chat with the person at my table. Definitely recommend.

First of all I must compliment our server, Samantha L., she was delightful. She gave us the specials & also the history on the Harbor Burger. I must confess we are not big fans of seafood & since it was lunch time ordered the burgers—they were awesome along with the fries. We love looking out at the Lake Michigan.
