Located in the heart of Gramercy in the restored Assembly Hall of the landmarked United Charities Building, Hawksmoor is a steak restaurant that celebrates all-natural, pasture-reared, and traditionally dry-aged beef. Our beef is seasoned simply with sea salt and cooked over live-fire charcoal. Our seafood is locally and sustainably sourced from northeastern waters and we use small-farm produce whenever possible. On Sunday afternoons Hawksmoor keeps with the tried-and-true British tradition and features a Sunday Roast.

Completing our offerings are award-winning cocktails, including New York City's coldest martini, and a carefully curated wine selection. The restaurant houses 150 in the dining room and 35 in the bar area. There are also two private dining rooms that can hold 12 people and serve exclusive, family-style menus.

Sundays at Hawksmoor are all about our Sunday Roast: all-natural, dry-aged, slow-roasted Rump served with crispy beef dripping potatoes, Caraflax cabbage and carrots, gigantic Yorkshire puddings, lashings of bone marrow & onion gravy and the option for a side of cauliflower cheese or slow-roasted bone marrow and onions. Sunday Roast dates back to the 15th century where large joints of meat were roasted on a spit over an open fire; to achieve a similar flavor, we start ours on our charcoal grill and finish them in the oven. Many who've had a Sunday Roast equate it to a Thanksgiving dinner – a comforting, filling meal that is best in the company of loved ones. And, should a Bloody Mary, or two, be consumed alongside it, who are we to judge?

Impossibile parlare dal vociare. Pollo lesso. Birra in barattolo. Un’ora e cinque di attesa. Conto esorbitante.

The food was great! Excellent customer service, it was my first time there, they have a lax dress code. I expected it to be more on the high end side. I didn’t expect to see servers in run down sneakers or faded jeans. In all definitely one of the best dining experiences ever! Top 3 steaks in nyc!

I am from New York and have been to countless steakhouses. I am truly sad to say that Hawksmoor is one of the worst restaurant I’ve been to in NYC. I specifically came here for the porterhouse, sold on the idea of my steak being cooked in a charcoal grill. I came here on Valentine’s Day (not sure if that had anything to do with it) but the steak was not hot and barely had any flavor. The sides (creamed spinach & mushrooms) were bland and don’t even get me started on the drinks. The drinks had a HUGE block of ice in them the size of the cup. I lifted up the ice to where you could see that the cup barely had anything in it. On a positive note we did enjoy the oysters (the Millionaire & the Vietnamese) and the service was wonderful. The pork belly was decent and the bone marrow was pretty good but again it wasn’t hot. Overall this was a date night flop, cold and bland food. This place is absolutely not worth the price point. Save your time and your money. For the amount we paid we could have went to any other restaurant in NYC.

Great food and drink. Service was wonderful and server was kind in answering all my food related questions. I think the only thing that was disappointing was the very casual attire of the staff particularly the hostess. It’s such a beautiful room. Even though we were there for a late lunch I would have thought attire would be a little more refined.

I was so excited to try Hawksmoor. It’s a beautiful restaurant but I was completely disappointed with the food. We ordered the Carolina spiced pork belly as a starter. All fat and not sweet as you would assume by the name. We both had the ribeye. It looked tender but I felt like I was sawing away on a rubber tire with a butter knife. So much gristle and connective tissue. At first I thought it might have been the knife but it was the quality of the meat. Very disappointed for a $70 ribeye. We ordered the Caesar salad (completely tasteless), spinach with lemon and garlic (ok) and the fries (good). I thought it was just me but we started a conversation with the table next to us and they agreed. I have to say our server was amazing. She went above and beyond. We tipped her nicely as it wasn’t her fault the food was so mediocre at best.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. My second time dining here and didn’t think it could top the first. Highly recommended and will be dining again

From start to finish, our night at at Hawksmoor with visiting friends was superb! The food & drink offerings, presentation, taste factor and finishing deserts were off the charts and we will return.
