This magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle.
Join us to dine in our elegant brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavor but no fuss or in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists.
Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc.
Please note our bar operates on a walk-in only basis, and you can book our main restaurant to enjoy both our lunch and our a la carte menu. When joining for Afternoon Tea please state this in your booking notes.

We dined here at the same time last year and definitely noted a drop in the quality this time. Food was not of a good standard, Turkey was akin to Bernard Matthews processed joints and vegetables were very undercooked. Service was ok but felt a bit rushed and nobody asked if we were okay at any point. Wouldn’t return anytime soon.

We have had Sunday lunch here on many occasions and it has always been excellent, this time we opted for an evening meal and weren’t dissapointed. A nice table, pleasant staff and an excellent meal for both of us. Will certainly be back!!

Love this place, sat at the bar for a drink first then through to the restaurant for a delicious meal. Soufflé and then turkey. Drinks, food and staff amazing!

Sunday lunch should be the highlight of the week. I think they are struggling to decide their identity. Should we serve a proper plate busting Sunday lunch or fine dining. Unfortunately it falls between the 2 and therefore fails particularly at the price point they want to achieve. Everything else staff, service no complaints.

Sampled the Festive Menu which was really good value for a birthday meal on a Saturday night (3 courses £35). The cauliflower risotto was delicious and the financier dessert was 10/10. Service excellent as always. Only downside to evening was getting through the bar to access the restaurant. Absolutely rammed with post match drinkers.

This is a beautiful venue. Cosy and full of atmosphere. We love it for our Christmas do every year. But the food was not up to its usual standard this year. Portions smaller and veg hard and under cooked. My starter was cold which I don’t think it should have been. Sad but didn’t totally ruin the experience.

My girlfriend and I love this restaurant. Fantastic venue, good ambiance and always excellent service. The festive menu was excellent!!

My second visit and enjoyed it much as the first time. Food is great, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are really friendly and helpful.
