This magical Edwardian building has been transformed to a beautiful bar, restaurant and private room where we hope to deliver to our customers an experience you won’t find anywhere else in Newcastle.
Join us to dine in our elegant brasserie which aims to serve classic dishes, including a generous Sunday lunch, using the very best ingredients with plenty of flavor but no fuss or in the bar for some light bites and fantastic drinks curated by a team of some of Newcastle best mixologists.
Above all we want you to relax, enjoy the music and feel at home here at Hibou Blanc.
Please note our bar operates on a walk-in only basis, and you can book our main restaurant to enjoy both our lunch and our a la carte menu. When joining for Afternoon Tea please state this in your booking notes.

Wonderful evening where weren’t rushed or interrupted. Great atmosphere. My starter of a prawn cocktail was, however, meagre. Disappointed with it but the rest of the rest of the meal / night was wonderful. Need to get it all right for their prices. Still good though.

We have dined here on many occasions and cannot fault the food or the service. Tonight was no exception! Really love this place for a really good dining experience, cannot fault it at all and totally recommend.

As a party of four we arrived on time but were told our table wasn't ready and could we wait in the bar area, ( around 20 mins) the area we were seated appeared quite drafty and cold. Our food was delicious and the food was delivered quite quickly from order, we did however order a bottle of Whispering Angel between the four of us and when we asked for another we were told they had run out, very disappointing. The waitress took our order for dessert and on completing our order informed us they needed the table back in half an hour, hence we had the wait of the order and then to eat our dessert within the time scale, upon clearing the dessert dishes away the waitress explain they needed the table, she returned with the bill. Upon paying the bill, we explained our table wasn't ready when we arrived and we waited quite sometime to be seated, the waitress' response was 'we have people here waiting for this table' we felt very rushed and uncomfortable by the response of the waitress. Not the best experience on this occasion!

We dined here at the same time last year and definitely noted a drop in the quality this time. Food was not of a good standard, Turkey was akin to Bernard Matthews processed joints and vegetables were very undercooked. Service was ok but felt a bit rushed and nobody asked if we were okay at any point. Wouldn’t return anytime soon.

We have had Sunday lunch here on many occasions and it has always been excellent, this time we opted for an evening meal and weren’t dissapointed. A nice table, pleasant staff and an excellent meal for both of us. Will certainly be back!!

Love this place, sat at the bar for a drink first then through to the restaurant for a delicious meal. Soufflé and then turkey. Drinks, food and staff amazing!

Sunday lunch should be the highlight of the week. I think they are struggling to decide their identity. Should we serve a proper plate busting Sunday lunch or fine dining. Unfortunately it falls between the 2 and therefore fails particularly at the price point they want to achieve. Everything else staff, service no complaints.
