LOVE this place! Have only been to the Buellton Location not the original in Casalia. Chef Jose is fabulous as is the entire team! I would fast the full day prior to going to dinner :). Well Done Chef/Owner Frank Ostini! Can't wait to check out the winery today and meet wine maker Gray Hartley.

HP2 is always fantastic. The entire staff make you feel at home and deliver the ultimate steak house experience. ( Thank you Aaron!) Salads are perfectly dressed, food is cooked EXACTLY how you request and everything is fresh and perfect. Chef rocked the steaks tonight as always!

I have been coming to Hitching Post 2 for 20 years and I’ve never experienced such slow and lackluster service, and on my birthday! We sat down at 6:40 and didn’t leave till 9 PM and not because we were drinking copious bottles of wine, ha, wish!  the enthusiasm level from the staff was very low, and it took nearly an hour to get our main course after ordering. We were seated in the annex room next to the bathrooms, which is fine, but not very fun atmosphere but at least it’s quiet. The birthday delivery of dessert took forever and wasn’t served with much fanfare. Disappointing night from an otherwise solid and great restaurant.

We ate there twice this trip and the food and drinks do not disappoint. We had the filet and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Also the grilled artichoke is the best I’ve ever had. Our server Jennifer was excellent!
