The Hive Pavilion with wrap-around patio & a seasonal addition of the Top Marquee each offering far-reaching sea views and evening sunsets to each table.
Check in on arrival will be at the front desk in our main marquee. Please note at peak times there may be a slight delay on arrival for your table. Booked tables will be available for the time you have reserved, early access will not be permitted.

Great for a walk on the beach to build an appetite then fabulous fish lunch looking out over Hive Beach. Lovely way to spend a Sunday 😊💕

Food great and good value, felt sorry for staff with orders having to negotiate our canine friends and for those who found a wet dog shaking itself next to them, I wonder what EHO’s would make of that. What ever the weather The Hive is a place to visit.

I know the cafe was busy but the wait for our food was longer than expected. The food was good but maybe not good enough to justify the prices. I know this is mainly a seafood restaurant, but I would have expected there to be more non-seafood choices, or at least something like scampi, that the member of our party who is not keen on fish could have eaten. The staff were pleasant enough but not the most efficient, for instance one drink only appeared after 40 minutes, at the 3rd request. One member of our party found a sharp piece of plastic in her crab sandwich and when she pointed this out a staff member made a vague apology but did not seem overly interested, and only made a price reduction when reminded again at the end of the meal. All in all a slightly disappointing experience.

We dine at the Hive Beach Café several times a year – mainly on special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). We enjoy the location and general ambience and have always been reasonably satisfied with our meals and service in the past. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we were a little disappointed with the service and the food.

The Hake wasn't very fresh , no surprise when it was from Newlyn in Cornwall. The Hive Beach used to serve local fish from Weymouth and West Bay. The batter was stodgy - what happened to Hive Beach Cafe's superlative tempura batter? And the chips tasted as if they had been pre-cooked . Not a patch on the restaurant's heyday in the 2010s.

The staff here were so friendly and helpful. Its clearly a happy place to work. Really good squid. Frozen thick fries standard. Great location. Really good value for money.

Always busy on a Sunday lunch time but service was prompt and friendly. Our table was ready and set for us when we arrived at our booked time The food was good as always. I had the fish soup with was substantial and very tasty. The marquee was warm and cosy after a walk along the beach. They were also busy at the takeaway counter but the staff seemed to have it all under control.

This is still a lovely scenic beachside resto with great views, friendly service etc. But having not visited for a few years we were sad to find the food has deteriorated. Understand these are tough times for the industry with inflation and the rest but just a bit disappointing. Keep it simple - lovely fresh fish - to get back on track. Genuinely sorry to be writing this.
