Good, American comfort food. Beautiful, vibrant setting. Very attentive service. Would recommend as a good neighborhood go to.

While the backdrop at Hoexters is lovely and some of the food was very good (particularly the chicken), I was a bit disappointed with our overall experience. We arrived on time for our reservation for a late dinner. The bar area was very busy and hectic, so it didn't bother me that it took a minute to find our reservation. We were eventually seated in the room furthest back, which was perfectly fine. After about 5 minutes, I received a phone call from the hostess asking if I remembered I had a reservation. I replied that she had just seated us. She then said she was going to walk to the back to find us and asked that I wave at her, which I did - basically she did not believe we were there and was fairly condescending about it. After that we ordered a bottle of one of the house wines. The waitress showed us the bottle, then said she was going to go open it to make sure it wasn't corked - that seemed an odd thing to say, but we didn't question it. My daughter glanced down towards the kitchen and watched the waitress open our bottle, then offer some to another waiter. I didn't have her vantage point, so I was not aware of it as it happened and didn't say anything once she told me, because we were so taken back.

Excellent dining experience. A very happening bar scene with the sit down portion of the restaurant logistically removed to facilitate conversation. The Bronzino was done to perfection with crispy skin and not a single bone. Hardly ever on the upper east side, but should the occasion arise, this would be my destination meal

First time st brunch. Have had dinner several times. The service is always great. I end up being sat in the bar area every time and it’s not super comfortable but it’s pretty. The food was good but all of our food was lukewarm. It was odd that nothing was hot.
