Chef Wayne's full-service seafood restaurant, Hook & Anchor, has come to fruition after six successful years in the fast/casual sector. Using the freshest ingredients and fresh wild-caught fish has made himself a name in the Newport Beach (and surrounding areas).                                                         If able I would put 2.5 on for food. It's not bad at all. Buts it's ok.... We've been there twice, service has always been good. Food came out in a fair amount of time. Not too fast not too slow and all meals came out at same time. I do not feel the menu had a broad choice. I would not NOT recommend it but I just have not experienced what all the hype has been about.

                                                        The food was very good. I had the house fav, Lobster Roll with fries. My daughter had the seafood Risotto which she said was delicious and it looked great. The wine selection was very good, we had a bottle of Spanish Cava. The Lobster Deviled eggs are a must (4 per order) and the oysters Rockefeller and Tuna Poke did not disappoint. The service was great and highly recommend. We will be back.

                                                        Great food in an old school seafood house. Good ambiance with a well stocked bar. Abby was very attentive and did a great job. Parking at this place can be scarce, and it's in a bit of a seedy part of Costa Mesa. Would definitely go back.

                                                        Amazing service and even better food. The clam chowder and lobster Mac & cheese were amazing. The shrimp Alfredo was perfect and the lobster roll was the best I’ve ever had, perfectly toasted roll and buttery lobster. They made my mother’s birthday extra special and if I could I would give 6 star.

                                                        My family loves this place. Super friendly and attentive staff, great food, quality cocktails, and amazing oyster selection. My parents started going sometime last year, and my wife and I have been back with them at least 4 times since. Never disappoints.
