Hooked is a waterfront café, beer garden and restaurant located in Marahau; the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park. Hooked was opened in 2002 by the Alborn family. Zoe Alborn has managed Hooked since its opening day and remains just as obsessed as she has ever been to delivering a wonderful dining experience for every visitor.

The interior of Hooked has two beach house style dining rooms, both of which are adorned with an impressive collection of seashells, driftwood, crayfish pots and other vintage nautical objects. Even after multiple visits to Hooked, visitors find plenty of interesting pieces still felt to discover.

Local Marahau village residents and visitors to the Abel Tasman National Park converge on Hooked each afternoon to sit, chat, quench thirsts and welcome the stunning sunsets across Tasman Bay.

Great place to eat after a long walk on Abel Tasman . We booked in advance and got a great table. The service was very friendly and efficient. The food was amazing - we had the lamb special - the lamb came on 2 skewers - lots of meat and so tasty.

I 100% love Hooked On, the food is superb, the staff is really lovely, and the ambience couldnt get any better, a real highlight every time we go,I highly recommend

Great location within walking distance. Really friendly waiting staff very flexible and helpful with seating options. Food was really tasty and reasonable sized portions. Freshly prepared and the Chardonnay wasn’t bad either. Coming back tonight to try the mussels

First off they did not have our Open Table booking, but they were very accommodating as they had an outside table cancellation. It was good to sit outside. The service was good, but we did feel a little forgotten and the wine we chose to go with our starter came after we had finished it. The Sauvigon Blanc we ordered for our main came immediately after the prosecco. They kindly put that in the fridge for us. The Ceviche we shared as a starter was delicious as was our snapper with a salad. The desert - a valentine special - was a brownie and cheesecake to share which was very nice and inventively presented. Not withstanding the comments above, the staff were very hospitable and engaging, with a good sense of humour. There was a good atmosphere with a mixture of locals and visitors. We felt the meal was good value and the quality was very good, so we would not hesitate to recommend the place

Absolutely delicious food in a lovely place. We shared the cerviche and then had different meals. Everything was superb.

Friendly and efficient service. Great Ceviche. Catch of the day was Snapper, prepared and presented to perfection. Good selection of wines and beers.

Chose lamb, it was delicious. Only small remark, the Tzatziki sauce should be/or including cucumber. We only tasted yoghurt.

Stopped here after a long day at Abel Tasman. The food was delicious and the service was tremendous. My wife had fish which she loved and I had steak which was great.
