Hy's Calgary is a modern rendition of the classic steakhouse tradition. Pride of place is held by the circular, glass enclosed grill room, producing perfect charcoal grilled Canadian Prime Grade steaks. The horseshoe shaped bar is surrounded by lounge and dining spaces that are both spacious and intimate. The menu features classic and newly imagined recipes, but Hy's favourites, like the famous Caesar salad and Steak Diane, are still prepared tableside. The extensive wine list, and delicious, hand crafted cocktails, promise something for every taste. Whether for lunch, dinner, or something in between, Hy's promises a timeless and memorable experience. Food was really good but the plating was quite lacking. There wasn’t much presentation to it and for quite a higher end restaurant, I expected a bit more on that area as well.

Had a fantastic meal to end 2024 at Hy's Steakhouse. Dino, our server was very knowledgeable & attentive. Food came in a timely manner and was delicious & cooked to perfection! We got the cheese toast to start which was extremely warm and gooey. I got the tuscan pasta and my friend had the side pasta(cacio e pepe) & we split a 10oz new york strip to add to our pastas. The steak was cooked to perfection and complimented the pastas extremely well. Our other friends got the pork chop dinner with mashed potato and the fish selection of the day which was a Cod dish with cheese risotto & both had nothing but good things to say about it! The friend who ordered the fish plate asked Dino to choose a good wine pairing for his meal and he brought out a personal favourite of his and was able to explain the notes of the wine, where it was from & how it will compliment the dish without even looking at the bottle! We finished our dinner with the salted caramel creme brûlée & honestly could've licked the plates clean, it was phenomenal. I will definitely be returning to Hy's in the future. We were sat in the dining room, near the back of the establishment beside the kitchen & the only "noise" was just the hustle of the kitchen as they put out these incredible meals, other table chatter and faint music from the lounge, a nice atmosphere for conversation.

Delicious dinner with family. Food was well executed and delicious, presented simply in a classic steak house style. John was an excellent server filling in for wine recommendations and helping us pick stuff for the table. Definitely a special occasion venue with its grand spaces and large dining areas. Very comfortable for a long 2+ hour dinner.

Not our First time at Hy's... But what made it remarkably special was being served by Dino. Truly a kind and wonderful professional server.. Witty and on point.. Dino made up the tastiest Caesar salad we've ever had, the second tastiest was when we dined there a couple years ago. Dino made that one too.. Beef steak Tartar was very tasty too.. As was the shared Porterhouse and the shared Rib-, Eye both done to medium rare perfection.. Sides were very tasty too... The Room, the excellent food and musical ambience was fantastic.. But what really anchored it was the top notch attentive service by Dino.. Thanks Dino, and your manager who Dino brought over to meet us and of course the rest of the Hy's team...

It was a great experience for xmas eve night, the server was very professional and caring during the busiest day of the year which i appreciate a lot, it’s a bummer i didnt ask his name for a praise, whom had a nice spiky hair haha
